How the hell can anyone disagree with that, it is a fact. Our best chance was Ade's, it was from a 60 yard ball from Bentaleb.... It happened. The fact someone disagreed says all you need to know about Spurs fans and their views of Bentaleb, shit-tinted (opposite of rose-tinted) spectacles. It's like they want him to fail. Fucking maddening.
Chadli's chance?

He's the easy target. No-one played well in the midfield today. Eriksen in particular was shocking, yet Bentaleb gets the most flack. A lad from our academy.

Talk to @DaSpurs about it. He thinks Townsend is the one being unfairly treated.

You guys can debate over who is the least fairly treated.

Watch the game again pal. Are you telling me he's good enough ? Henderson was running him ragged and I thought he was a limited footballer.... Bentaleb will do well when things are going well for us and he has lots of time on the ball. Today when he's up against better players he goes missing. Did exactly the same last season. I called this before the game and I maintain it. He is nowhere near ready to play for us

1 good pass doesn't make up for the fact the game was lost in the middle of the pitch.

We need a class central midfielder and pronto. We don't have a single one.

To me it was the central midfield as a whole that was poor. The problem isn't that they do anything particularly wrong per se, it's that they don't do enough right to implement any sort of a gameplan. So while I agree with you Bentaleb is being overly singled out here, I do agree with these people pointing to our central midfield as a clear problem after today's game, and one we still have not fixed since last year or arguably even the year before that.

If you think Jordan Henderson is a limited footballer your opinion is completely invalid anyways. He is one of the most important pieces of Liverpool's system and has been a standout BPL midfielder for over a year now.

I totally agree,

I used to think he was a pair of legs with 4 lungs but he can play too.

The bold part proves why everything you say on this matter should be discarded. Do you ever notice how, when you get a twinge in your hand and then focus on it, it seems to get much worse? Same thing with judging footballers. You go into games expecting him to be shit and then sit there, waiting and watching for him to do something shit so you can chalk it up as he is shit. You're not judging him fairly, you're pre-judging him, as do so many of our fans. Your reply will be "no, I judge what I see" but you don't, no one does, we see things through whichever lens we want to view it with. He will always be shit in your eyes. Shame.

The midfield is the heartbeat of any team and yes we have lots of midfield players but none are if the same quality as those of the PL top teams. Schneiderlin was needed massively this summer. Last season he controlled games for Southampton even against some of the top 6. We've got players who control games against the likes of QPR but not good enough or consistent enough to get us CL football. We have good players not great players. I'm not being negative but realistic.

I thought! Along with half the country this time last year ! But hold on you probably knew he was gonna be some player didn't you? Anyway he ran the show today against a very inept nabil bentaleb which was my point. Ta ta

I made the point that last season against Liverpool at anfield and man city at home he was completely over run and these games are too big for him, he isn't ready not good enough to be running our midfield. Same again happened today. He never got us ticking which is the job of our deep lying midfielder he never made a tackle and ducked out of 3 headers. When you realise that isn't acceptable come back and chat. Until then keep those blinkers on

After today let's hope this guy is the real deal. We still haven't replaced Modric (not that that's an easy thing to do). Bentaleb might become what we need in the future but we can't rely on him for a whole season, he's only 19 and there'll be more games like today where he's relatively ineffectual.

I just dont want to see us line up with 2 defensive midfielders again. We need a ball playing midfielder more than an anchor in midfield. It doesn't sound like this guy is a different type of player to Capoue and Bentaleb. We dont have enough variety in midfield, too many of the same type of player. That's why I really want us to pull out all the stops to get Schneiderlin.

Outnumbered in midfield today, 2 against 4 at most times, I think it was more of a system failure on our part.
