The big point your missing is he isn't good enough ! Whether he's too young or not I'm not willing to watch my team with someone so ineffectual playing central midfield. Anyway he won't be starting after today against any of the top sides so my point will be proven. Send him on loan to get a season under his belt then look at his progress. If we want top 4 he is nowhere near the answer.

Ha ha he's only 19 ! Ahhhhh let's not dig him out coz he's only 19. Ahhhh poor nabil. Get a grip mate. We need good footballers and people who make tackles and headers and get us ticking with quick incisive passing in our central midfield, we don't need people like u going oh give him a go and don't worry if he's not good enough he's only 19. Pathetic.
Poch loves player that suit his game and follow his plan (and have ability on top of that). Not sure Dembele suits his game.

The big point you'e missing is there is currently no one better at Tottenham. Hence we've spent all summer trying to sign Schneiderlin. I hope you aren't so negative towards our youth players at actual matches.
No one currently better at Tottenham... Which brings us neatly back to Stambouli. I hope this get's done tomorrow. Clear out any 2 of Holtby, Sandro and Dembele and get him in. I like the sound of him and if Poch wants him that's good enough for me.

You don't think dembele is a better player than bentaleb ? You don't think dembele did more in 30 mins than nabil did in 60 today ?

Personally I think all three of Sandro dembele and holtby are better than Benteleb currently. But anyway, regardless of that our CM does need to improve drastically.

Bentaleb was very good first half, possibly our best player, passing the ball more than any of Liverpool's CM3, including Gerrard. It was him who also played the pass that put Adebayor clean through. A pass that if 30 odd year old Gerrard had made would have had the pundits creaming their pants.

Would be silly to get rid of bentaleb, on loan or not.
We do however need to freshen things up in CM, if Poch doesn't like Sandro, Holtby, Dembele and/or Pauli, then they need to go.
Whether Stambouli is the answer remains to be seen, but something needs to change right now

I think alot of the hate for Bentaleb stems from the fact Sherwood wouldn't drop him, so fans took out their anger on the player. He's not shit just not ready imo to be a starter... not yet. He shows great potential and could be huge for us one day, but many writing him off too early. Think a loan deal would have been best this season.
As for Stambouli he looks decent in his YT vid but I don't know enough about him to get too excited. Same with Fazio. It seems a cut price alternative to Schniederland to me but we'll see.
Plus that'll be signing number 6, only 1 away from last seasons "magnificent 7" lol. And people still want more!? Hope we don't make the same mistakes

Surely this was Pochettino`s failing allowing us to be out numbered in midfield !! In big games you need to drop Eriksen and play a strong three of Dembele, Capoue and Sandro who can screen the defence and out power the opposition. Lamela, Chadli, Eriksen hardly saw the ball yesterday completely pointless tactics.

Although in hindsight it may have been better/worse, it would have sent a negative energy through the team so it wouldn't have worked, and everybody on here would have been screaming why play like that at home after we beat QPR blah, blah blah.
Poch doesn't strike me as a defensive coach.

Could not disagree more. Our central midfield had circles run around them, and you suggest remove the foundation of an attack in favor more physicality? The speed and technicality of quality attacking players can run for days around a physical three centrally. Power is not how you combat speed.
And the attacking players did see the ball, but not with optimal space ahead of them. The cause of this directly falls back to the central midfield. If they don't control a game and open up the opposition with incisive play, our attacking players will continue to be far too easily shut down by the quality sides due to the predictability.
Well I and others made this observation before the game... I also think we need to find a way of stopping crosses from the left back position where we conceed far too many goals!!
This is a lesson and the manager is paid to analyse the opposition and adjust the players and system accordingly. I hate to hear players saying oh we only worry about our game and are not concerned with the other team. That is plain niave and even stupid!! Maurinho is the best manager for a reason and Poch should have seen how he beat Liverpool and City last season and copied it as we have the players to do so.
Against some teams you need to earn the right to impose your game on them. We cannon afford both Eriksen and Lamela against Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea they will just roll over you. It is totally obvious... We needed a strong 3 man midfield to cut the supply to their front players and pace up front to break on them. Also Danny Rose does not need to bomb on every time especially if we are left exposed as again the first goal came from there. Its great to have a system and philosphy but if it is inflexible then we have a big problem.
