Bit of a weird one but I'm not overly upset about it. It's not like he's a dud - the talent is there - and he might well increase in value/ability while he's back in Spain.

Lots of clubs on the continent do these types of deals all the time and I'd much rather we loan him out ASAP to ger him regular game time rather than having him play for 5 mins as a sub every other game.

The main problem is that we don't have unlimited funds and that £30m could have been used on a player that would instantly improve the first 11. As a long term investment it could well still pay off, though.

Ally Gold just posted an article about his unhapiness with the Gil situation and it really feels like moaning for moanings sake.

We bought him for a cheap figure. We had conference league games to offer first half of season, we don't anymore so games will be hard to come by. we have a new manager who has changed the system. Now he's getting to go on loan to play/grow in a league he's already familiar with.

If he is as talented as we & those in Spain think he is then his value will only grow from continuous game time over there.

Ideal situation - The manager likes the player and thinks he can use him and he develops as a player.

Next best - find a loan in the PL to help him settle and develop.

Where we are - find him a loan anywhere so he can play.

From the time Conte was appointed there was plenty of talk that he wouldn't fit in his system and that looks to be the case so we're where we are. Games anywhere will be good for him.

I think the lad wants to go back to Spain...homesick etc

Maybe best option...gets a bit older and racks up experience in a decent Spanish side, then we review.

This signing and now his subsequent loaning out six months later, sends out so many wrong messages to young talent its disgraceful.

From what I saw of Gil he was always showed positivity, desire and a willingness to impact the game.
Hi mate. Can I ask whether you have anything positive to say about Spurs at all at the moment? This particular post feels like picking on every single matter (be it inherently positive or negative) and just drilling home the negative.

Is everything OK? Serious question.

I can't stand Gold and his constant pandering to the most negative Spurs fans. Gil needs to play and he obviously isn't ready to play for us.

Think this guy will come good- you can see he has quality and is not afraid of getting stuck in.

But he is not ready for PL so loan good option, real question is whether back to Spain is right answer.

Personally think more time in UK would have been more beneficial, but he needs to play. Dont want him to be another Jack Clarke who had some bad loans with limited game time after joining (and thats despite staying with club where he started off).

Would definitely prefer him to go to another English club on loan instead. But regardless, it is really better for him to play even if it's elsewhere than rotting here playing a few minutes each game. He may be better returning again to us, if not we can also attract better players if we are back in the CL too. It is a win win situation for us.

Fairly annoyed considering he always looked good for us and is so highly rated in Spain. Pretty sure he never got a start in a Prem game?

I like Gold, he may waffle a bit but overall i think he speaks some sense. His 'pandering' I think is more the fact that Gil has gone to a league that really wont help or benefit us... i know one or two on here dont think any English clubs will have taken him, and they could very well be right, but if he went to an English PL team I dont think Gold would have had an issue with that, as would others who think this.

He isnt ready for us thats for sure, but playing ina league which isnt as physical as ours also wont help him too much

6 months of regular football is far better than sat on our bench imo, especially with Kulusevski now coming in. Far easier to say "it should've been to an English club" but there's no guarantees that a prem/championship club was both interested AND a good fit for him

I cant imagine a team like Southampton, maybe Leeds, Norwich perhaps all wouldnt want him. Hell id send him for six months to meet Sean Dyche - that would be funny. Brighton perhaps?

Anywasy I hope he does well over in Spaina nd bulks up somewhat.

I was quite surprised he didn't get a chance a LWB because I think he'd have probably been a real danger there

Under previous managers he would likely have stayed here, not played and stagnated. It's great that he's going somewhere else for a while to develop his game. He's still so young and lots of potential.
