Sorry mate, I meant could you post it, I knew it was twitter as that’s where all gards stuff has come from but I, like many others, don’t indulge in that platform :)

Appreciate the post but you can tell Gards likes to give an opinion based on what's he's heard so it's hard to discern what the facts are vs what he feels.

Eriksen is a fantastic player, but Hazard is on another planet unfortunately.

It's fine dont answer my question.

I fully understand hazard is better than eriksen, I am not disputing that, but not to the tune of a potential transfer fee disparity of 90m.

If Eriksen goes to Man Utd I'll lose all respect for him. Going to play Europa League football for a shit manager. Guess it certainly qualifies as a 'new challenge', but in no way is it a step up.

Money talks. They'll probably pay him more than Kane makes and at Eriksen's age he only has one contract left. So money talks. See Bale, Gareth.

Would that fall in line with his “new challenge”.

As it stands, United is a step down. Not in stature, but as a current team and standing.

But is that really true?

As it stands if you take eriksen from us without us investing properly and put him into uniteds first 11. What about now? Then who would you put youre money on to next win a trophy...united or spurs? I know which id slightly lean towards.

I would love to see a Venn diagram of SC posters who spent last season pillorying Eriksen, saying he was shit and contributing nothing, and posters who are saying losing him is a disaster if we only replace him with one, or losing him to a rival is a disaster.

I can’t be sure, but I’d wager the overlap would be quite large.

Also, anybody who thinks that Utd aren’t still a huge pull, regardless of current state, is delusional. In recent memory they have been the most dominant team in England for an insanely long stretch of time, and win two champions league titles while appearing in another two finals. Manchester Utd are massive, it will take well over a decade of obscurity to undo what Ferguson created.

As he is Scandinavian it would be a Sven diagram

That’s subjective, given the injuries we suffered last season and what we still managed to achieve I’d still fancy us, all a matter of opinion.

With everything the ITKs are saying at least one of GLC or BF (both with Eriksen on the move) we would be only slightly weaker whilst they adjust.

Eriksen is a better player than Coutinho, for instance, but didn't Coutinho sign a new contract just so Liverpool got a decent transfer fee?

Can I ask, why is everyone here mentioning Man Utd? Logically? He can sit for one more season and go to Eastlands! If we sell him it will be abroad to a club he wants to go to. Juve? Athletico? I think he will sit and we will have to sign two, roll the dice and hope we can sell him in the remaining foreign window. If I was outside on the continent looking in, I wouldn’t make an offer before Thursday! Once Thursday passes, then we might see some bids IMO. We need to be brave and move on our targets now. Of course, getting rid of a few for space is massive. Exciting window TBF as we will be highly active I believe, plus the merry-go-round looks poised. Bonkers!
