every team that played Denmark was zeroed in on Eriksen. 2 or 3 guys would close him down every time he touched the ball.

Luckily I can't see Eriksen leaving this summer. Both Madrid and Barca seem to be baulking at the asking price of Thiago and Pjanic at around 70M euro, and surely Levy would demand way in excess of that for Eriksen, with 2 years (possibly an option too?) left on his contract. Seems Barca are moving onto Arthur and De Jong and Madrid are gonna have their work cut out raising the Neymar fee!
I think he's happy here right now, enjoying being a key member of a rising European team (he runs games for us like Denmark, but has much more quality around him), hopefully he signs the new deal soon and gets the big payrise he deserves.
Jealous of the guy that got to meet him though!

Why's he saying he can leave overseas then makes no sense at all... He should be saying stay for life and sign a new contract...

only a Spurs fan will meet one of our star players and rather than tell him how great of a world cup he had or how much the club loves him, they ask him not to leave domestically

I think the story is he's agreed to a contract before the WC signed as is just going to finalize/sign when he gets back for training. I'd imagine they'd make a video and all that jazz for a player like him as they did with Kane.

I also have a feeling that the club has agreed (signed) a new deal with Eriksen, and that the news will be released when he returns to London. They would want to make a big PR thing about it, not just post it on twitter while christian is on vacation in denmark (or where ever a guy like that likes to kick back).
It would be utter lunacy for Tottenham to be selling players like Eriksen if we have e genuine wish to go for the PL title in the next few years. I just cant see it happen. Cant.
