now they are just buying from the reduced shelf.

Has Levy tried a yellow sticker on our players yet?

I'm pretty certain that they are predominantly shopping at CL clubs or clubs with big reputations to boost their profile. They actual player is less of a concern.

Given how well VdV played - I would not be disappointed in a solid veteran to back him up.

Just need someone who can step in in case of injury or fatigue, not someone who is coming in expecting to be the starter.

That's fine but need to at least have similar attributes to VDV so they work in the system.

The pace vdv has was massive yesterday and any one without that or the front foot aggression would be pointless.

Hopefully we're trying to replace Dier instead of Sanchez at this point. If we can get better than both ideal, if not then just happy to move Dier out to a club where he can play

Indeed, unless it is a slower CB with superb positional awareness, to make up for the lack of pace. Laporte?

He’s not what we need and don’t fit the system we want to play . Did ok in some games but he is to slow to warrant a permanent move .

Don't think he was ever a target, think it has all been agent bullshit.
Why would we wanna sign someone who was a part of one of our worse ever defensive seasons.

It seemed to me that as a part of the loan, he agreed the terms of a deal if Spurs and Barca agreed a price after the loan.

Spurs seemed to have decided they didn't want to pursue it, but Barca clearly want rid and the player would have been keen on a move. Seems to have been our decision to go a different way

Some might deduce they are shopping at clubs that need a hand FFP wise where they might not get anywhere near that value for players toward the end of their careers. PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barca coming to mind
