We don't need to sell Rose to fund those though. Since the last transfer window, we have 16m a fee for Bentaleb and we have Njie, Fazio, Sissoko, GKN and Janssen that we can sell to fund a playmaker and striker. I honestly don't think there is an attainable LB even close to being as good as Rose is and it would be madness to sell him, even for 50m.

Ryan Sessegnon, but probably in a couple of years. If he'd be happy to come then I'd be well chuffed - he can probably do a job as a sub further forward too.

Sessegnon won't be ready for the first team for another 2/3 years. He is still really raw especially defensively.

Let's offer players new contracts everytime they're linked with another club, that's a good idea.

feel very confident Rose will be here for a long time and feel like the best back up would be Ben Davies and then buying Sessegnon (idea with him would play further forward and bring him back in time).

Question ---- with Luke Shaw so out of favor with Maureen would it be worth bringing him in instead of Sessegnon as a back up to Rose (if the fee was low ish and he took a BIG cut in wages?)

I want no part of Luke Shaw.

He's missed about two and a half years of football and has now had two managers question his work rate and his fitness.

Also, tbf to the kid why the fuck would he come and warm our bench? That's the last thing he needs right now in his career. He needs to be playing matches, to get back to the level he was before joining Man U.

He should just go back to southampton. Trouble is, I read this morning that his wages are £130k a week. Nobody bar 2 other teams in this league will pay him that in wages. Actually they both could do with a left back too!

Are you sure about that?

Most of the premier league could afford to, bear in mind players like Walcott, Payet, Deeney, Vardy and etc. were/are on £100k or more

He is going to have to take a pay cut due to his injury record anyway

The wages of Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea are in excess of £200m a season

West Ham almost certainly will make a bid for a player like Shaw

Crystal palace are paying Benteke £120k a week according to the Daily Mail

I think people see the 6 figure salary and immediately assume thats too much

While we're at it with Shaw might as well put a cheeky bid in for Berahino at Stoke!

I'm sure we've had a similar update on him every week for the last month or so.

Starting to sound like me might just give him the rest of the season off.
If we are still theoretically in a title race then he'll surely feature - if not, little point in pushing him back in too soon.
