Ok. I'll go with the BBC in that case:

Tottenham full-back Danny Rose has had surgery on a left knee injury and will not return to action until next season.

The 26-year old England left-back picked up the injury playing against Sunderland in January.

Rose had hoped to play before the end of the current campaign.
Don't really see the difference, saying he will 'return to action next season' to me indicates that he won't be part of pre-season and might not even start training until the season starts.

hes got 3 months rehab to be ready for the new season....unless its an ACL injury i dint see why anyone would assume thats a push especially as we dont actually know what hes done?

Poor Danny. On the plus side...a less attractive target for other teams?

I will make some arrangements for Walker to have a little injury too...

Using the lamela thread logic - surely this must mean he wants to leave/has depression/the club is covering it all up

Don't forget the love for nose candy. God people and their need for drama.

Not a doctor, but have been a avid sports follower for as long as I can remember, and exploratory usually means "dig out some cartilage or some small bits that are causing irritation."

Sounds just like lamela.

Came back and did some field work, bit.of hammering and painting

Took part in a few training sessions and still felt pain so off to surgery.

Hopeful he and lamela come back undiminished

Next season is a figure of speech in this case. Pretty sure he will be back before long.

Clean up operations and exploratory surgery are much quicker recoveries than three months, if that's all he's had I'd expect he'll be ready for preseason.

If they find a major problem in exploratory surgery, how can that be? No mention of clean up operation. It will be looking for something that hasn't shown up on the scan but still causes him pain

Exploratory doesn't generally mean they're looking for a major problem. It means they've solved the big problem, but there's still some residual pain which they can't pinpoint, and doesn't come up on a scan. Obviously there's a chance they could find something major that doesn't show up on any scan -- but the likelihood is that it will be something floating around in there that's causing him some pain. Obviously he's not in 'that' much pain, or they wouldn't have him training with the group, which he has been doing.

Independant piece calls it a clean up operation...others are saying different.
Some are saying he's already had the op, some saying different.

Conclusion...they're all probably guessing.

I realize that, hence the "if that's all he had" statement.

That's it then

Rose could be out all next season and the next along with Lamela, Winks & Anderton

We're going to need cover for Janssen and sharpish otherwise we've got no chance of winning the league next season

We might have to settle for runners up again

What a load of bollox. I miss the old days
