This is my favorite bit and I think it's a combination of game and man management by Poch. Poch clearly recognized early that playing in Madrid was an opportunity few could refuse and most would cherish which is probably why he took injured/suspended players that could and wanted to go with him as well.

Would like to think Poch's words were

"You want big games and big names?

You're playing at the Bernabeu - Google that muthaf*cker"

The impression I’ve been getting from a lot of his recent quotes is that this will be his last season.

Most of his previous statements have always been about playing well and winning trophies generally “with Spurs”. Since the interview a lot of his language seems to be still Spurs related, but more specific referring to playing well “for the rest of this season” or getting back into the team and winning trophies “this season”. To me it’s like he feels it’ll be his last and there’s now a countdown on it now.

.. I’d much rather be wrong and for him to seal his rekindling with Poch with one of his standard contract re-signing poses though.

I totally agree with what you are saying. I think he will get back to the level he was an expect to move on next summer. If we can do the same sort of business we have with Aurier for Walker I would take that.

Sometimes, and maybe this is wishful thinking, people come out of these situations with a change of heart and see the worth of being part of something real. He still has his years to succeed with a top club and if he wins his spot back, is greeted with warm receptions, and we win something, the head could be turned back. I for one think he is the perfect LB for our system and although Davies has played brilliantly, Rose is a cut above and I would hate to see him go to Man U or something of the sorts.

I agree. All very definitive timeline wise. It’s clear he wants a big contract more a la City / Utd can offer at this point until Levy loosens the purse string. Would be upset if we sold to them though as a quality player and superior to Walker who is more of a right place right time signing for City in his pace and recovery abilities whilst their reap players do their thing

Main plus point of last night is the ability to start posting again in the Danny Rose thread without someone making a lame google joke

Hopefully he's seen the win vs Dortmund and how we performed last night and realised that the team is in a way better position to compete that he thought. Then if we do win something and he still leaves then he'll have proved that money is all he cares about and fuck him. Great that he's back anyway

No idea what the issue with the google joke is, those who like it, leave them to it, those who don't, is your life really so empty that a little thing like that will upset you?

Bayern are still in for everyone, every exciting new signing is blue and yellow, Iaquinta is still called Dave. It's all pretty harmless.

Whos upset?
Nothing wrong with pointing out that a tired old gag is wearing dangerously thin, its an opinion, forums are for opinions.
I think it stems from the fact that none of the google 'jokes' are actually funny, even when it was a new 'thing'.

Clearly some people find them funny or they wouldn't keep coming up.

Dangerously? Guns are dangerous. AIDS is dangerous. Recep Erdogan is dangerous. Jokes at the expense of a player who said something incredibly stupid, not dangerous.
