Having this extra pace in the back 3 will really help us cope with the bigger Wembley pitch and still maintain our high defensive line. Very strategic signing imho

Sanchez and Aurier would give us some serious pace at the back. Might even be up to Dier's CB/CM role. Great option to have in the squad.

@$hoguN - thanks for your intelligent input.

@cockerel downunder - you talked about the last episode in the ITK thread. Anyway, I'm joining countless others and sticking you on ignore as you obviously don't get it.
Ah Ok I guess I got the time zones a bit mixed up forgot you guys wouldn't have seen it yet. I don't think I gave anything away but apologies nonetheless it certainly wasn't intentional.

I'm intrigued by how he'll maybe slot into a back three.

Will he be the sweeper-style player sandwiched between Vertonghen and Alderweireld or play right side to add some pace there (although if Aurier comes in and gets the nod that might not be such an issue).

Also I'm a little aprehensive as he appears to be potentially a very very good centre back but I can see us being a stepping stone for him given how quickly he went through Ajax and tha the Spanish big boys are already eyeing him.

Hopefully the Poch influence and the fact next year we'll be in our new stadium should swing things.

Poch also has said that once transfer window shut Levy will be concentrating on current player contract improvements so hopefully we'll sort all that out too and shut likes of Rose up.

Will be interesting to see how Dier fits in as well - I know it's a squad game etc but if everyone fit and on form and Sanchez does settle in we could possibly see:

Lloris

Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen

Aurier Wanyama Dembele Rose

Dele Eriksen

Kane

(Aurier picked if we get him as a bit nippier although Trippier will probably play)

add Rose and its lightning....Aurier is pretty quick not sure if he's Walker power speed (Walker had for us freakish pace power up and down that right side)

Probably will start on the bench however it wouldn't shock me to see him start. Poch appears to be overjoyed that we got him.

He's had a couple of days of training - missed the last week of training at Ajax, and will be off to Colombia for the break.

I think his first start will be in the Cup match.
