True although really wanted to keep Sanchez as 4th choice, I wonder if this triangle happened and assuming we sell Tanganga who is no where near the level we need and being left out of squads then does Davies become cover as 4th choice CB and 2nd choice LB and Philips if absolutely needed and is that enough just having : Romero, VDV and Tosin as our out and out CB choices...?

I think we need to keep 1 of them for 4 natural centre backs. Davies would be horrible there. Whichever 1 out of Sanchez, Tanganga or Dier we can't sell can stay as a 4th choice. It just seems Sanchez is the most likely to be sold. Not seeing much for Dier so think he will stay his final season and Tanganga out on loan. I'm fine with Dier as depth cover. We just need a more solid choice when back in Europe.

I think we would need to know for sure really. I mean if he just has a preference for Monaco then that doesn't mean he doesn't want to come here. I would still think us over Fulham is a great move for him.

He might not like the idea of bench warming for us though. Maybe he's more confident of starting regularly at Monaco (or Fulham).

Surely Sanchez to Forest would only happen if it means Johnson the other way.
That would reduce his fee and provide more funds for another CB. I would be shocked if we let our third choice CB go and didn’t replace.

He mentions later on in the the thread that it is because Dier doesn’t want to leave.

He's a solid guy but that's the wrong decision from him.

Not surprised by Dier not wanting to go. Probably has an eye on moving on a free next year and seems to be happy to sitting around even though not making the bench in our first 3 games should send out a strong signal the manager doesn't see him as a fit in our system. Or it's a game of poker and he is holding out for a late loan and then going on a free next summer.

We probably want to sell him and receive a fee and are probably holding out something comes in which is acceptable to him and us. Think the club will have to give in and move him on a loan and accept he'll be going on a free. He is a pretty pointless option at CB for us in this system and can't see any situation where Ange would be comfortable having to play him.

POK says Gil is expected back in 2 weeks. Personally I’m still hoping he stays but probably unlikely at this point.
