There have been 10 USMNT games so far this year since Yedlin came into the team in January. Yedlin was in the squad for 9 of them, only missed out on Ukraine due to it being a primarily european team. Played in 7 and started one of them, including playing in 3/4 in the WC. There are 3-4 more dates for him also. He is also eligible for a Latvian passport if need be. He would definitely get a work permit.

2 Questions:
1. Was Twellman doing commentary for the All-Star game?
2. If so, Did he mention Yedlin?

Yes and yes. Mentioned us on a few occasions during the game. In the post game show, they had a segment on transfers where he talked about it also. He made it sound like it is extremely close and would have been done if not for the loan back. Couple that with Yedlin's comments of "Nothing is finalized yet", lets just say I think we should keep an eye on the twitter account for the next few days.
Discussed this deal among others like kljestian(sp?), jones, diskerud and another player(didnt say usmnt player coming home. Adrian Healey asked that. Twellman didnt give a 100% clear answer)

Idk. He talked about the loan back and was like, which is the reason its not 100% done yet.

Taylor Twellman reiterated during the match that it looks like he could be going to Tottenham
I reckon this will happen...
His post match comment is more telling. Especially the last bit, which seems like a freudian slip. "It's an honor." Deandre Yedlin will be a Tottenham Hotspur player very shortly.

I wonder if Spurs could be in for him on a transfer right now - no loan back. If Naughton leaves now, we really don't have great cover at RB. Yedlin could spend the first half of the season just playing Euro and Cup games.
Seems like a stretch, but I thought Naughton wanted out to get regular playing time...

Did he actually say that? The original tweet I posted referenced him saying that but in the actual Seattle Times article, that part isn't mentioned.
In other news, Yedlin got a TOTS in FIFA yesterday and is going for millions of coins and is extremely sought after...
I don't think I've ever seen a player seem so well-known after 1 match. This transfer would be good for footballing reasons and marketing reasons...

I do think this has football/marketing written all over it. It would be interesting to see if Spurs get linked to Julian Green again - with those two players, assuming they develop, Spurs would be THE team in the US market for the foreseeable future, and would not have AIA as a shirt sponsor next time the contract is up....

It was mentioned a couple of times throughout the match that he was likely on his way to Tottenham but would stay in Seattle for the remainder of the season.

Reg season ends late October, followed by playoffs.
I wouldn't make a big deal about the loan back deadline being yesterday. MLS finds a way around these things all the time. My guess is they would say something about how he's already with Seattle so he won't be counted as a new loan, just a revised contract or something. MLS creates and adjusts rules to their liking if they feel it's for the good of the league.

Regular season ends end of October. Last year the playoffs ran until December 7. Right now, seattle would be a favorite to play in the final playoff game.

If this rumor would have started anywhere else I would be skeptical, but as it's been stated in this thread before, Twellman has been spot on with his USMNT player news. He broke Dempsey to Seattle, Bradley to Toronto, Donovan being cut. No one had even a sniff of any of those before he broke them.
