Spursyanol (sp?) made a good point re: Yedlin vs. Fredericks. Both seem to have similar strengths and weaknesses at this time. Both had a similar route to their current position (starting off further up the pitch then moving back to RB) and both are basically the same physically (I think Yedlin looks a little more built in his frame) and age-wise.

Yeah, he is. And I think that's the driving point of this transfer. We hear all the time about making our brand bigger in the US; the Friedel Ambassadorial Role, the US Tours, etc. So, bringing on Yedlin could realistically bring new fans to our team. Sounds like when we were in for Honda and a lot of us were saying how the Asian market/jersey sales would basically cover the cost of a transfer, etc.

Interesting one, did impress me at the WC but that was mostly due to his crazy pace, which doesn't mean much. Still raw but as mentioned he is young and has potential, whilst also being a (potentially) valuable marketing commodity. If Levy can shift Naughton (say to Swansea) and get Yedlin in on the cheap it could be a masterstroke.
