I am an MLS fan but I can understand the difference between the two leagues. There's a such thing as middle ground.

I also believe that my opinion on somebody or something can be swayed over time so I don't pick a fanatical one sided argument and defend it to the death. I allow for other people's opinions and facts to change my views. It's a pretty cool concept.
Meh. I have tried it. And I have mostly just found that other people's opinions are wrong. ;)

It just dawned on me. We are signing Deandre Yedlin!!!!!!!!!! The Deandre Yedlin who gave Jan Vertonghen(who had a very good WC, IMO) a HEAP of trouble.

Imagine if Kyle Walker did this stuff?

Yeah Im high and getting WAY too hyped. BTW, is it Saturday yet?

One thing I'd like to point out about the Yedlin v Belgium performances, is that while he was very good that game, let's not forget he was completely fresh (subbed into the game) and playing against a seemingly out of form and certainly tired Hazard as well as a unnatural, much slower, and also tired left back in Vertonghen. Like I said, he was very good but those things have to be factored in.

But yes, I'm excited for this, huge potential.

Wasn't he subbed in after the injury to Fabian Johnson? I think it was only a half hour into the game.

The thing I like most about what I've seen of Yedlin is that he actually looks up before he crosses. I love Walker to death, but I feel like he just blindly plays balls into the box hoping someone turns up at the end of it.

Yes, but the point is more that the Belgian players had played the entire WC whereas Yedlin had played maybe 30 minutes until that point.

He's got an incredible motor, even if he had played 90 in the first three games he's rarely tired.

Okay well since we're gonna bring fatigue levels into this(your call, not mine!), Belgium was the freshest team in the tournament at that point and didnt have the group of death to face.

And yet they had generally all played 270 minutes of football at the end of a season compared to 30... No matter which way you look at it he was fresher.

That shouldn't take away from the fact he had an outstanding game and bossed Hazard. He certainly is a great prospect, probably not the finished article but athletically he has the potential of a Walker or a Shaw.

It was his composure combined with his obvious physical abilities which impressed me in that match.

Lots of excitement at his quality going forward, still yet to see any evidence that he can cope with this level of football defensively within the next 12 months..?

Interesting that you mention Shaw. Fingers crossed.

Quite a few websites saying they believe this deal to be done pretty quick - not seen much ITK alluding to this though...

Wildly ambitious but athletically if not technically he has the potential. Then I guess its down to the coaching to bring him on technically.

I mentioned Shaw specifically as a player of a lot of potential who was coached by Poch and is now one of the most expensive left backs in the sport.

JJ did come out with a "USA" tweet late last week which I assumed was saying that this deal was as good as done.

I did see his tweet, but wouldn't just presume that it was a done deal from that.
