I think those saying that he's only played 30 minutes and it's crazy to cast any judgement are right.

I think what happened last night was, we were actually starting to be on top at 1-1 and we decided we were going to make a sub to change things up and bring on Kulusevski in a situation which would have suited him. Then as we're making the sub, all of a sudden we go 2-1 up. Now usually I think what happens here is you tell the impending sub to sit down because things change but I imagine Conte was thinking about the bigger picture and was probably wary of showing a lack of trust/denting his confidence. So Conte took the risk and obviously it didn't work out and you could argue that Kulusevski could have done more to help Emerson out with the runners but clearly he's still new to the system and his responsibilities.

I think he's going to take time to get up to speed and that's the beauty of signing in January because typically you use the 6 months to get acclimatised and you hit the ground running in pre-season. I'm sure we're all hoping he can contribute sooner but I don't think he's had any time at all to really be judged on.

At this point in time he is living off his 2019/20 loan spell at Parma. He has been a failure at Juventus you cannot tell me otherwise.

Well no he was decent under Pirlo in a poor Juve team, and hasn't been great under the mess that Allegri has them set up in.

I refuse to give up on a player after 36 minutes.

Not impressed with what I've seen from him so far have to be totally honest here, early days. I have never rated Royal and I stick by that .

and i don't know why it needs to be explained that people knew full well we weren't getting a diaz/speedster type in kulusevski, it's more that they think we should have targeted that type of player instead. it also begs the question how we go from nearly signing one player and then when that doesn't happen we move onto another with a completely different profile.

I imagine people would be moaning if we had got Diaz and he couldn't get on the pitch because Son plays where he wants to and would be asking why the fuck we hadn't signed someone for the right side instead.

All of us that are arguing to give the kid more time are wasting our breath. The ones jumping on him have already made their minds up. They’d already made their minds up when we were first linked, and they’ll only change their minds if he turns into a cross between De Bruyne and Messi.

Anything less than him being a runaway success will always be greeted as a failure of club recruitment, not because it is a failure, but because they want it to be.

Of course he needs time. But looking at Emerson I am worried about Paratici's eye for a player

You sure?

Every DOF/club gets some transfers wrong but there is no way that you stay 13 years at one of the elite teams in world football, and build and rebuild title winning teams, without having an 'eye for a player'.

As a Juve fan I was underwhelmed by Kulusevski and he struggled to repeat his Parma performances. Juve did the right thing in letting him go as we have other young talents who are more promising and should be given more game time. But I'm pragmatic enough to say that just because a player doesn't fit in well with one team or league, doesn't mean he won't excel anywhere else.

I don't think we should be writing him off just yet. I don't care that he doesn't have pace, he's not the kind of player that relies on it anyway or tries to play that way. He's a build up player and he'll work better when we're playing that kind of game. He just needs time to settle.

We really shouldn't compare with Bentancur either as he was already in a later stage of development and a regular in the Juve team. Kulu is like a youth signing whereas Bentancur should be considered as someone coming in to stake a claim in the starting XI.

Yeah. They looked at his pace stat in Fifa.

Are we really casting final judgement on a 21 year old player that has come to a new country, new league and new set of teammates, has played less than 45 mins and actually set up two very good goal-scoring opportunities?

Do people not think with time he is likely to get to know the system, league and teammates better and as a result will be more effective?

It's just way, way too early to be making any firm judgement.

I liked his debut cameo against Brighton.

Get behind the young lad.

Some my feel a little underwhelmed but just be patient.

I'm betting he comes good.

If he’d come on and was a player with electric pace, skinned a couple of players but meanwhile gave the ball away ten times the people slagging him off would be hyping him. It’s standard pace obsession.
He’s not going to settle and be some explosive fast winger, no one has ever said that’s what his game was so going on about his lack of pace is the same as suggesting a short winger needs to be taller.
He needs to be more central but a big issue right now is we don’t have a right wing back who dominates that side so he keeps being forced to stay wide when he comes on. Put him in the pockets more inside and he’ll be creating for Kane and Son whilst having some cracks on goal with his left foot and then we can judge him more fairly.

Well, yeah.

If we could do it for Emerson, we can sure as fuck do it for this lad.

I expressed my doubts about him before he signed, and he's looked way off the pace but this early judgement of why he's shit gets toxic very quick. After every poor team performance he'll be the one everywhere comes on here to spew bile about. Take a breath and decide if you really wanna pile on before posting.
