Everyone was raving over Parrott.
Then Scarlett was the future of the team.
Now Dilan.
Hope the best for them all but interesting how the hive mind is always after the next big hope

Generally forums can generate a bit of an opinion of their own, ie here for a while Kessie was a big get now the narrative is Kessie is not good enough. A few opnion leaders lead a narrative a the majority buy in.Can you elaborate on the "hive mind". Unless you're separating those who follow the 1st team and those who also follow the youth setup as different types of fan?,I would have thought if you support a team, it all falls under support.
Lol, he got a disagree too!Don't see why you would. He's been played as a CF/RW/ LW/AM throughout his youth career and he's a pretty versatile player. He's certainly developed more tools to contend with bigger players and at this current juncture, it seems like his finishing has gone up another level.

Sometimes I wonder...
But, isn't that part of the joy of following the youth teams?Everyone was raving over Parrott.

They don’t have to make a mark on a top team in Europe for it be a mistake to have lost them. People consistently misunderstand the function of an academy. We’ve let yet another good prospect go for fuck all. It’s shit and we do it over and over. Dilan may or may not have been good enough for Spurs. But we’ll never know due to the lack of opportunities, and we’re getting pennies for him because we never gave him any exposure. Strategy concerning young players has been a joke for years now.Sad to see Dilan go but we have to trust the experience of Conte and the coaching team in accessing players, sure somebody will name someone but how many youngsters recently let go by Spurs have made a mark in any of the top teams of England or Europe.
Biggest name probably Beckham but that was years ago and according to Wiki his parents were fanatical Man U supporters so I suspect that was always the main destination for him.
Exactly this. They don’t have to make a mark on a top team in Europe for it be a mistake to have lost them. People consistently misunderstand the function of an academy. People will literally blame them for anything when it's more or less got nothing to do with them. And before anyone starts I'm not defending Levy but this is probably not up to him.Great start to the transfer window, not a single player close to coming in and we lose our brightest academy talent for pennies. Levy and ENIC already living up to expectations.
The mistake is letting Markanday get to the last six months of contract without either first team minutes or a loan opportunity at any point in the last couple of years. It is a structural problem in our youth setup that our players move into U23/PL2 limbo and just stay there. Whether that's Levy's fault, our various academy directors faults, a vision gone wrong, hangups from Poch wanting to keep everybody around instead of gaining loan experience, it's a problem that needs addressing quickly.People will literally blame them for anything when it's more or less got nothing to do with them. And before anyone starts I'm not defending Levy but this is probably not up to him.
He wanted first team football, he wasn't going to get much chance here with where we are right now. It would have been nice to maybe extend his contract and loan him out but Markanday probably didn't want that because he'd be back at square one returning from loan.
