Are Emo and Gilberto (the left back not the ex scum) related ? Their levels of shittyness are remarkably similar.

When’s the last time we had such a shit player as a regular in the first 11? Early Sissoko? Even that’s a stretch..

Made one excellent tackle in the second half but his complacency and lack of attacking intelligence is infuriating.
Pity the other 99 percent of his performance was shambolic! Sick of people pointing out one good thing a player does when he does about 100 awful things lol! Liability

Tbf he could do one bad thing and 99 good things — unlikely, sure — and you know what would get pointed out.

guy isn’t a rwb and just isn’t comfortable there. same argument as end of last season, perhaps he’ll be a decent rb for another team one day but should have been sold

It’s called being objective. I’m sorry for not calling him “shit” or whatever, but it’s not as black and white as that.

I’m wholeheartedly sorry that you’re ”sick” of someone highlighting a positive, when anyone with a brain can infer that my post is clearly a criticism of his overall play.

guy isn’t a rwb footballer at the standard we required and just isn’t comfortable there. same argument as end of last season, perhaps he’ll be a decent rb for another team one day but should have been sold
IMHO.

I can understand why he played this with Doherty coming back from injury and likely to start at the weekend, but at what point do we stop blaming the player and shift it to the manager who’s playing him, he’s not good enough for the system.

I thought he was excellent tonight at doing just about everything WRONG.. Player on par with Sanchez.

When you see PEH's cross for Son's goal and then you watch Emerson do his usual underhit/overhit/mis-hit assorment of crosses, it must be deflating for our attacking players knowing that Royal will never make the right decision in the attacking third.

Total & utter lack of concentration and application led to the corner & their second goal.
Given what Conte demands of his players, he has to be fuming with Royal for that.
He misses Everton & United but if he goes straight back into the side for Newcastle, I will be baffled.

Emerson is way better than Gilberto was. Honestly Emerson would have been great in our sides back then we’ve just moved to a whole different level and he is not what is needed for our team given the need for attacking output from our wingbacks.

He’s definitely not anywhere near good enough to be our starting RWB, and he’s probably not even good enough to be a reserve wing back. Awful waste of money and hopefully we can recoup some of it. Seems unlikely though given the European market.
