Think this debate's moved on, or should move on, from the typical, pro and anti (insert player name) player debate. This is now a question of how do we deal with a player that is rarely available to play due to fitness issues. FTR, I've always been a huge Lamela fan.
I do agree, and looking to replace him is probably the most logical and sensible action.
'Stick the knife in' Dramatic..much ? If a player stops contributing to Spurs success then we aren't allowed to say so...on a football forum '' FFS .
This is such an overly emotional position that I wonder if we should get therapy for this lost soul .
Look , for Lamela to sit on our bench...or even in our recovery room , does not mean he's been anything other than incredibly successful.
He is fabulously rich and has reached the very top echelons of the football world...Known worldwide .
Suddenly because fans on a forum opine that he's not contributing to our beloved club , we are cast as metaphoric murderers .
Are you dreaming that Erik reads fan opinions...or cares ? You think fan opinions here have an effect on anything ?
Have a quick word with yourself mate .
You're of course allowed to express whatever opinions you want, just as I am allowed to do so as well.
First, it's not the opinion of Lamela's lack of contribution which bothers me (that's actually a fact btw, not just an opinion), what bothers me would be the toxic attitude some of you have towards a player who at the moment is not being able to do a job for the team you support. It actually feels like mob mentality to me, something which I simply despise.
And second, I do think fans toxic opinions and ways of behaving do have an effect on the club. Sure, here in the internet is not really harmful, but this BS sometimes get translated to the stadiums and msm, where, e. g., it morphs into a lot of fans with a sense of entitlement grunting and bitching whenever things are not going that well for their team. I just don't see any positives to it.
