100% this! Bit off topic but I am still fuming. Poch showed himself to me of being a hypocrite by not being brave as he like to spout. We had a winning streak or formula in Kane's absence, one that took us to CL finals lead ably by Lucas. Come the day he was not brave enough to tell Kane he would be on the bench and that Lucas would start. Especially when we had recent history of Kane being rushed back into the team resulting in us losing a winning streak (Burnley). Kane as good and as important as he is to the team, is not bigger than the club but it doesnt seem that Poch realizes this. Also Kane in my opinion acted selfishly by putting his ego and needs before the best interest of the club by stating he was ready to play when he clearly was not match fit. In that match our defence and defensive midfield played brilliantly and an on form Lucas and fit again Lamela (who was available) would have made us Champions of Europe instead of Liverpool in my opinion. I am really truly pissed with both Poch and Kane on this but I will get over it.Just makes it more painful that probably our best AM in the Champions league this year, Lucas, who not only got a hat trick in the semi was dropped. Regardless of the performance and how it all panned out, when i saw he was on the bench i was devastated and i think it's the biggest mistake Poch has made whilst at the club (don't get me wrong i am a huge Poch fan but i still can't understand this). Still have no clue how Dele and Eriksen started over him in the final when their form was average at best.

poch started the right team imo, you can't legislate for conceding a penalty after 20 seconds.

Poch was wrong to drop Moura for Kane.
Kane is the best striker I've ever seen at Spurs, but he was always going to play a stinker rushing back from injury. Can't blame the penalty- Kane was crap all game and deep down we all knew he would be.
winks had been out just as long as kane and was one of our best players, thems the breaks. neither eriksen or dele were better than kane, son wasn't great either. of course the penalty is relevant, if lucas starts you still go 1-0 down inside a minute and i doubt the game goes any differently, we started with lucas up top against ajax and were doing terribly until llorente came on, something which seems to have been forgotten. lucas is a good option and has had his moments over the season but he's not shown enough over the course of the season to say he's part of the best 11, he had an amazing 45 minutes but that's not enough to start over our best player if he's ready - how ready he was only the management will know for sure. lucas didn't exactly add much when he came on either. unfortunately there were just too many mediocre performances across the park that day that swapping one player for another at the top of it would have had little effect on the outcome.
You realise I'm gonna keep re-quoting your post when one of them scores or does something extraordinary
I take your point, but disagree. Lucas was huge for us throughout the CL. Guess neither of us are quite over it yet
Suck it up people!
Then move on!
It's history.
Nah, you only get to do that if either of them get to pull of a good performance in a CL final or a league title defining match.
Yep scoring or playing well in the CL final is the only time that makes a player reliable which means 95% of professional footballers are useless in Ralvy's world - insane logic. ?
Yes and his inclusion in the team was warranted as we played with a shaky midfield in both quarter and semifinals. Our front line on the other hand was on form so didnt need to be tweaked just to include an out form Kane.winks had been out just as long as kane and was one of our best players,
Rather, finals are what separates actual reliable players from the chokers.
Look, I love all four of Harry, Christian, Dele and Son but, fact is, they all collectively chocked in the CL final and now I don't know if I can ever trust them to lead us all the way. But, hey, this is a trial and error game, so here's hoping this experience helps them to get rid of their natural chocking tendencies (will THFC ever get to see the benefits from that is a whole different matter though).

At least give us until pre season to get our heads right, please.

The starting 11 should be picked on form and not on reputation or sentiments which your opinion would suggest
