Is there a chance Lamela is better than Bale was at 21? If you look at it in an age comparison, this coming season for Lamela would have been the season where we were in the CL for Bale. The year he really made the world take notice of him. I'd personally say looking at videos that Lamela has progressed further by 21 than Bale had.

AVB helped mold Bale into a world-beater in under a year; to think what he can do with a younger Lamela in more time is very intriguing. Lamela's talent is no doubt there. He will never be a Bale clone, as he is more technical and less physical. But I would have to imagine that AVB will continue his impressive record with wingers by helping him become something truly special. I would even go as far as to state that Lamela's ceiling is possibly higher than Bale's.
