Just seen the tv highlights - wrestling the ball off Son, embarrassing !!!
It was the other way round. Son tried to get the ball off Lamela.
No wonder all the bs you spout here, you can't see shit

If Lamela was right or wrong in wanting to take the penalty is another discussion. But it's pretty clear that the one that tried to wrestle off the ball was Son.

Absolute great win today. But please let's not pretend Lamela had a good game. He's going to have to play a lot better if he wants to stay in this team. COYS!

You need to re-watch the game I'm watching it again and his performance may not have been top drawer but it was gritty and as always worked his balls off for the team.

Seriously? This ' worked his nuts off' bs is all any of you have got ..... glad you are all so pleased with the barest of minimums any player should offer let alone one who costs circa £30m

Lamela already had the ball, Son tried to wrestle it off him. Son should have asked, when Lamela refused Son should not have tried to grab it off him. Regardless of who was supposed to take it, if it was Son who was due and Lamela was being stubborn then he should have kept cool and just walked off and brought it up with him after the match. I like Son but trying to grab it off Lamela was childish.

Anyway, we won, everyone including Lamela played well, there is nothing for anyone to moan about.
I like how opinions differ on here - I saw it exactly the opposite way!

Not clear cut at least

From the video Lamela has the ball and is walking to the spot. Son goes over to him etc. Etc. I would say it's pretty clear, unless something happened before this.

Ether way It's meeningless as we won and they both played well.

Has had much better games

Got around the pitch well, had some nice close control but…

But gave the ball away a lot, in and around the box but struggled with that final ball and missed the penalty that would have given left us all with less laundry to do tonight.

Balanced and fair points which I agree with.

Defensively he was excellent.... tenacious and energetic.

The thing is he isnt being effective in a creative or offensive sense. Not sure why.

He really does remind me of David Bentley,

One of his weaker games this season for us but still had more tackles than Son, Eriksen, Alli and Sissoko combined. Our biggest strength today was our pressing and harrying and he's at the forefront of that.

Anyone catch motd2 ..... seems like I am not alone in thinking he was embarrassing and piss poor today

So you think we're unbeaten in the league after doing over Man City with a passenger in the team who is piss poor?

You don't really understand what Spurs under Poch are doing do you?

not as his best today, don't think anybody is saying that....but try supporting the team at some point this season.

We pressed hard and chased them down.Lamela worked hard at that and demonstrated how integral he is to the team, yes offensively it wasn't a stand out game but he worked hard as usual.

According to th BBC that was our 3Rd consecutive penalty miss against city.

Defoe -> Bobby -> Lamela

Eriksen should take pens in kanes absence but perhaps Erik and son are the only ones confident to step up.

Overall good performance from him and everyone else over 90. Anyone complaining and singling out individuals after that game is just a sad old **** tbh

You misspelt Francis Gibbs

Hey, Francis, you and the legendary oracle of football - Ian Wright - share similar opinions!

I mean, he referred to him as not being at it but, sure, let's just read between the lines and assume he meant "embarrassing and piss poor."
