Lamela might go down as the most underrated Spur of all time. I don't even think people who love him fully understand what he does for us. Since he's been gone we've just been..well...lost. We can play without him- even win without him- but the guy is our soul.

He is one of our greatest players because he does so many things well. He can do literally anything we ask of him. And his raw physical skills- his dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and moving- are dwarfed by his mental ability. His soccer brain is world class. The guy sees the game like Messi/Modric/Robben-- three or four steps beyond anyone else. He straight up TOYS with defenders sometimes- he mocks them. I love every fucking minute he's on the field. I can't wait for his return.

I only hope that our skeptical fan base can someday see what I- and various others- see in him. He is not a "dud," he was never a "bust." What he is is a fucking genius, one who needed to give us time to acclimate to him.
