30m euro for Lamela is madness, no chance that figure is correct. So many big clubs would break their hand off for that price. I think 40m euro is more like it. Roma fans would sack the city if they sold him for 30.

Yeah, they bought Lamela for 22m euro (together with add-ons) they won't sell him for "just" 30m.

30 is his release fee I think

There's a poster on another Spurs forum that I knew very well and he is an Italian American Spurs fan who is also obsessed with Roma. He just told me this about the guy who tweeted the tweet that has just been put up in this thread......

this guy is generally on the money for Roma and doesn't tweet unless its fairly serious..

Most times he tweets, the items end up true from discontent, lineups, and leavings the past few years..he generally waits to tweet as opposed to the papers which put stuff out all the time.. I imagine he has an in with the club, or Totti, as during a season he announced the king of rome is not dead.. and it became a big cry for Totti, and Totti on his OS even made a tshirt with the tag, in english, available..

The key word in that tweet is IF. I really hope we haven't had our head turned by Willian. Thats about 26 mil pounds.... If the info is legitimate, this deal needs to happen right now.

I wonder how serious our interest in this kid is. It's not clear yet whether we've sold Bale or if we have any real intention to, and I doubt Roma would us to keep stalling them whilst we decide what's gonna happen to gb.

All the ITKs say we are seriously interested and I even think someone close to Baldini said before he joined that his plan was to sell Bale and go on a spree including Lamela.

Bale is going to leave at some point soon, whether now or next season, so we should be going all out for this guy now before he becomes unobtainable.

If Bale is staying this year Levy can't ignore this deal. He won't be attainable next year for the same price or for us if he carries on his rise.

Lamela and Willian as our attacking replacements for Bale is fine for me anyway.

A front 6 of:
Soldado
Willian - Bale - Lamela
Paulinho/Dembele - Sandro/Capoue
is just an erection inducing thought. Too bad we will probably never see it.

Right now we have spent 40m net. Or 10 Less than it is supposed that Lewis is fronting us. We move back to around 36m with Parker's sale. So we have 14m left. Couple of kids maybe?

Coentreau is a wiping out of Modric money

Say we get Halilovic (17), Willian (26), Lamela (30) and Bakkiki (12)

That's 85m on four players. 85 is what we are hearing for Bale.

The numbers seem extravagant. But they are quite in line with everything we've heard. Don't know how much of that is truth. But we could sale Bale and get 5 world class players, two versatile but talented players and 2 kids of massive potential. And still spend only 36m this summer.

I'd be happier if we spent that and kept Bale, but what are you going to do

What you haven't accounted for is all the new TV money which every club is spending like mad.

They paid 12m euros (payable in three installments) plus 5m in potential add-ons - so a maximum of 17m.

Yes, almost spot on (which is rare nowadays, because most of the figures out there are either grossly inflated or downright ridiculous on both ends of the spectrum), so I'm impressed that someone's got accurate transaction data.

It was indeed £10.7 million (which was a little under 12 million Euros at the time), that Roma paid to River Plate, plus a couple of million Euros (in performance-based bonuses). Then his 3rd Party Ownership group and the Argentine Fed. Gov-t also received a little under 7 million Euros (for value-added sell-on & commerce taxes - respectively), which they practically split down the middle.

Cheers
