Right now we have spent 40m net. Or 10 Less than it is supposed that Lewis is fronting us. We move back to around 36m with Parker's sale. So we have 14m left. Couple of kids maybe?

Coentreau is a wiping out of Modric money

Say we get Halilovic (17), Willian (26), Lamela (30) and Bakkiki (12)

That's 85m on four players. 85 is what we are hearing for Bale.

The numbers seem extravagant. But they are quite in line with everything we've heard. Don't know how much of that is truth. But we could sale Bale and get 5 world class players, two versatile but talented players and 2 kids of massive potential. And still spend only 36m this summer.

I'd be happier if we spent that and kept Bale, but what are you going to do

As of today, our current net expenditures are at (a little over) £45 million, but you were close enough. (y)
And who is Bakkiki?

How can bale not want to stay if we sign willian and lamala?! He will still be the star man in a star line up

This is actually what I'm wondering. In RM he would be a star among many, but here he IS the star. This is HIS team. He could be the Michael Jordan of Tottenham, instead of the Pau Gasol of the Lakers.

To be honest though, if he doesn't have the competitive desire to be the best and raise himself to higher levels, but would rather leach onto the success of others, would we really want him?

All the ITKs say we are seriously interested and I even think someone close to Baldini said before he joined that his plan was to sell Bale and go on a spree including Lamela.

Rosella Marrai. She had a lot to say on Baldini, someone mentioned Baldini might look to sell Bale and build a better team and she replied "Couldn't have said it better." I had quite forgotten about it until you mentioned it.

I don't think it is that high.

We have roughly spent Soldado (26), Paulinho (17), Chadli (7) and Capoue (9) = approximately 59 million

and roughly earned Caulker (9), Huddlestone & Livermore (5), Dempsey (6) and now Parker (4) = approximately 24 million

Which means we have spent around 35 million

No, you're partly right, and I'm partly inaccurate (because I forgot Clint).
So deduct another 5 + million (which means the OP was almost spot on with his estimate). Parker AFAIK hasn't been officially sold yet.
Unless I missed the boat, which is certainly possible.

In: Soldado (£26m), Paulinho (£17m), Chadli (£7m), Capoue (£9m). Total of £59
Out: Caulker (£8m), Dempsey (£6m), Huddlestone (£5m) Scott Parker (£2). Total of £21

59-21=38

Before Parker, I had it at 40 and that seems right by the numbers I have (Independent).

If I have pulled in numbers that are wrong, I am quite willing to accept my error and adjust.

As I explained earlier, you were almost spot on. So I stand corrected. (y)

30m euro for Lamela is madness, no chance that figure is correct. So many big clubs would break their hand off for that price. I think 40m euro is more like it. Roma fans would sack the city if they sold him for 30.

The owners and board will sell most any player for a profit, it is just how the club is run. There also aren't many big players left on the market for a player similar to him.

It'll be Bale/Willian or Lamela/Willian IMO. Lamela if Bale is off. This has deadline day written all over it. Bale transfer would be the knock on, or the Lamela one.

I'd be extremely happy if our situation was that come end of window.

Keep Bale but even if we lose him have a deal in place for Lamela.

Somehow I feel if we don't get Willian it'll just be a case of keep Bale and if not just sign Lamela.

Maybe not if Lamela has a buyout clause that we feel the need to activate now.
