Not sure a guy who will basically be unemployed by the end of June needs to take a pay cut mate.

He's over 25, so he'll be able to get up to £77.00 p/w Job Seekers allowance.

I reckon even Levy could just about top that.
Missing the optimistic rating about now.

If we get a top left footed centre back Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon could fight it out at left wing back.
I think Ben’s days as a wing back are long gone. We have been linked with Jack Harrison of Leeds to play left wb. Would be more of a Conte player as he likes to play attacking players in that position as opposed to normal full backs. He had Perisic at wb at Inter and he is an intern@tional winger.

It’s just so frustrating his comeback season was last year without fans. I only paid through the nose for a shit seat up in the gods against villa at home to see him again and he only came on for minutes. Such a shame

If Mason had gone with Bale instead of a totally unfit Kane in the City final last year we might have created a few chances .Not saying we would have won but it was like playing the final with 10 men. Champions League Final again, this time Bale instead of Lucas left out for him. Both times Kane should never have started.
We wouldn't have. When Bale came on he wasn't in the game at all either. Our problem in that game was our inability to get the ball into our front three/four. Bale wouldnt help in those situations at all. It's not his game. In fact Bales problem was often that he would contribute nothing in terms of transition only in the final third. There is a reason he didn't play most big games, and a reason he was hooked off early whenever he did.

Wasn't Kane's fault either. The midfield couldn't break man citys press. It's that simple. If we had a coach with the time and know how then maybe we would have had a better chance. But an individual player in a forward position wasn't the issue.

I do not know if Bale has ever played upfront as a CF, but my gut feeling (and that may be all nostalgia) is that he perhaps may be the best rotation/cover for Kane that we could realistically get (whilst also being able to cover RWF).
No, Bale after his injuries doesn't have the phisicality or back to goal work required. He's played there a fair few times for real Madrid and has rarely impressed. His output also decreases in the position. He's much better when in a position where he has a bit more space. I would consider him as an AM, but the arguement against is mobility is really important in that position that he doesn't really have anymore.

If he comes he would be to take the AM roles normally, and it would normally be as a late substitute or against weaker opposition. But the reality is that I would be shocked if it happens, because he is the polar opposite of a Conte player, and exactly the kind of player that Conte has a reputation for pushing out of the side.

Agree completely with the weaker opposition or late substitute especially in those situations where tracking back isn't as important such as park the bus opposition or chasing a game. Where his real value is in free kicks. How many points do you think Spurs would have with a relatively effective free kick taker? It could easily be the difference between EL and CL.

I'd also add that given how ridiculous his minutes per goal were last year (83) even if he dropped off in half, he would still be top 10 this year. And in a Conte system where movement off the ball and vision are so important, it is hard to imagine for a moment that he couldn't contribute significantly to the organization. The key is to use him as dictated by his strengths and weaknesses a.k.a. super sub

The Spurs fan part of me would love to see him back in a Spurs shirt,
The romantic in me would love to see him turn out for Cardiff City,
The Pragmatist in me suspects he'll go for a couple of seasons somewhere warm in the US.

Some really underestimate how good he is... It's really quite amazing.

I’m not sure they do really. I think some just wonder how motivated he is and how his fitness would hold up. Plus whether he’d really fit into a hard running, high fitness team under Conte.

Personally, I’d love to see him back and think he could be very tasty especially on the counter attack for us, but I can see why some have doubts.

If he came as a super sub that would be perfect. And I think he'd be happy with that role too.

Especially if we make top 4, rotating between the CL and league is a favorably position to be in. Would love it just for the potential of Conte winning us something next season. Having Bale and Eriksen back to experience that would be amazing.
