Trix's 2nd update is quite concerning.

Why even bother taking on this deal if at the end of it, we are going to just dither and piss about yet again? In that time we spend dithering on this deal, we waste precious time securing a 2nd centre forward and overlooking at the positions of need.

Double whammy.

I don't get this fixation on Bale really. He is on huge huge salary and comes with baggage of extremely poor injury record. We have to focus on whats needed for team first. Get that striker in, sort out the midfield and get a LB in..thats what we need. If we sign Bale on top of this, I would take it as a bonus but wont be disappointed if we lose out on him (as long as we do the necessary business)
Apologies to move the response into here but I didn't want to clog up the ITK thread.

I completely agree with you and stated this yesterday. However, do you really trust Levy to bring in those players in the next 3 weeks???

I imagine a striker will come in because of what Jose said and his confidence. But that could still go horribly wrong.

We've not been linked to a single midfielder other than Benrahama. We flirted with Van De Beek, but that was a futile mission as we left that til the last minute.

So any midfielder who comes in now is likely to be an opportunistic one rather than a long term target. Increasing the chances of it being a miss.

LB - we seem to be in a battle with United for Reguilon and are too scared to make a move as we know they'll just better the offer.

CB - only Kim Min Jae seems to be targeted strongly, yet this is a signing who will not be an instant impact.

It's just an utter utter mess.

Anyone who watched us play yesterday and think we don't need more quality in our starting XI is frankly deluding themselves.

The club isn't going to go bust under ENIC, I don't give a shit about the financials, Bale would potentially give us that little bit of magic it takes to win games like yesterday. As if some people are turning him down :ROFLMAO:

It's the same every, single year! We shop around trying to get bargains or the cheapest deal possible and start the season under prepared with gaping holes in our squad. Even last year, when the window shut before the season started, they were signed right at the last minute so had no pre season. The year before, no signings in 2 windows was disgusting from Levy. We were so close to the elite in our last season at WHL and didnt push on. Liverpool lost the CL and came so close to the league, bought who they needed/ klopp wanted and bam, won both of them. Clubs like Everton, backing their manager and looked fantastic yesterday. Palace, making great signings. We need at least 4 more top signings, not bargain bucket signings. But with Levy and that drip Hitchens in charge, I wont hold my breath. The documentary has made me not trust them even more in the market.

I'm seriously close to turning on Levy and handing in my membership of the BSoDL :cautious:

But never fear, it can't be much longer before the BSoDL emerge from their brainstorming meeting with reasons why you shouldn't blame dad. After all, as we are all coming to realise...........It's never his fault.

I'm not sure how much longer this can go on for before there are louder and louder calls for him to leave through the door of the catflap through which he arrived

But then again, we could still sign him so I have of course taken the appropriate dose of salt.

Tanguy Ndombele? Giovani Lo Celso? £100m+ worth of creative midfielder that was, for one reason or another, out of the team today.

Sometimes the solution isn't "buy more players".

This is such an important point. We have the players. The manager needs to find a system to get the most out of the them.

I made the mistake of softening up a little due to the Amazon documentary.

How many will be fooled by that?

Bale, Dybala and the others before that.

Levy will NEVER change.

Or we need to find a manager who will.
And start the process again. I think you’re right but it’s depressing we’re possibly back on the managerial merry go round. Post lockdown matches were a weird cocktail of absolute toothless shit and something resembling a team becoming more coherent. Obviously he needs some time after the window to shape the new squad but yesterday was awful not because it was a nasty surprise but because we’d seen it before

The only links I keep seeing regarding Bale are Man United - I wonder if they’re in the same position as us in progress of the negotiations...

I've always been a supporter of Levy and thought the careful spending was all part of a long term plan, I think I must have been blinkered because hes really starting to fuck me off now with being the difficult one in deals. I mean if the deal is there to be done do it or just fuck it off, dont dither and piss everyone off.

Similar to Grealish. Squeeze the club because you sense weakness and then after fucking about circumstances change against you.

False economy.

If Levy didn't dick about so much we would have Grealish and Bruno Fernandez at the club now. Those 2 are exactly what we are missing.

The one thing you can take away from All or Nothing is he is WAY to involved. Got his filthy mits into everything. Even eats lunch down their like hes one of the lads. Hes so David Brent its painful to watch. Your not one of the lads your a dick.

With the stadium and infrastructure of the club you cannot fault him. He has really helped us step up in that department.

The next step needs to be without him though as success on the pitch and success in business are two very different things. Pray god Trevor Birch has been bought in to do the same job he did at Chelsea.

that grealish situation will forever leave a bit of a bad taste for me with levy, a club in dire straits trying to sell their prized asset to stay afloat and he tried to mug them with derisory offers. Deserved everything we got on that one.
