Anyone doubting this signing would give us a lift.......

Look at us. Just look at the state we're in.

If only we'd pushed on when the time was right a couple of years ago and made a high profile signing or two. The whole club has been flat ever since then and IF this comes off, suddenly, the optimism levels are ramped right up and not only that, we start looking forward to watching us play again. If this doesn't excite you then you haven't got a pulse. And about fucking time.

Don't fuck this up. Anything less now and you'll need more than a pair of runnings shoes and a jet pack to get you out of it.

Spot on

You have to hand it to a Levy...

Ndombele
Lo Celso
Sessegnon
Clarke
Højbjerg
Doherty
Hart
Seguilon
Bale

... if he brings in all of those in just over 12 months with no significant outgoings, that is a serious sign of intent.

The summer of the magnificent seven we had sold Bale and it was consolation spending. This is something else altogether. We might even see A&C at the next BSoDL picnic... ?

You can add Mourinho to that list too

In all seriousness, if Bale does sign what does this do to the club dynamics?

Kane has been top dog for while now, I think Bale usurps him somewhat.
Puts less pressure on Kane to be the main man every game, pretty sure this will lead to a reinvigorated Kane

I know mate it's tough my condolences.
I lost my mother in law in February just before COVID. And I've been helping my father in law since as I've been furloughed.

Keeping both of us strong with our mental health is very important. This Bale news has certainly helped I couldn't sleep a wink last night!. Take care mate things do get better. COYS
Thanks for your kind words my condolences for your mother in law. It has been a tough couple of years only lost my dad 17 months before mum so was helping her she was really struggling then COVID hit she passed i lost my job my partner has been a god send only family i have left

Yeah this is all well and good but before we sign him we should be asking if he can be a c**t, not a stupid c**t but a clever c**t.

Isn’t his brand GB11 or something ? I imagine as part of the deal he is entitled to claim the no.11? Or now we’ve announced squad numbers it cannot be changed?

Might be wrong but thought you could change them up until the transfer window closes.

Also, we finished 6th. If we didn’t have Bale on the books years ago he wouldn’t be coming now. We’re got something in our favour to help us punch above our weight in the transfer market, get on board with it. Hell, it’s even allowing me to make peace with the Mourinho appointment...

I was sceptical that with his recent injury record we may not see enough of him on the pitch to feel the benefit. But I have to admit, especially after Sunday, the club needs a lift, the players need to feel the ambition of the club and Jose needs to know he has a chairman who is fully committed to giving him the platform. That's all pretty powerful stuff.

And even if we get 30 games out of him, he has the power and ability to be decisive in the big games.

I sure as hell value our chances higher in the EL now.

Also, look at United and their reaction to this (combined with Reguilon). Their fans are now saying it's "Sancho or nothing"

Lo Celso and Ndombele both fit that description right? Or are you talking about a player like Coutinho?

On paper they both should yes if José can get them playing (NDombele especially).

Or while we’re bringing back all our best players...Modric!?!
