England v Wales would be great, Kane vs Bale with them linking up together in the league

I seem to remember in the January TW, one or more of the ITKs said that there would be a number of good players who would be out of contract (OOC) and available. The advantage of signing one or more said OOC players is that it would enable more money to be spent on Transfer fees in the summer.

Bale (and Eriksen) for no transfer fee and signing on fee only seems like a good deal to me, if it can be done!

Love the guy but we know he will use us to get peak condition for the WC

Time to move on
It’s not even just that, it’s clear that his focus will be on being fit for Qatar, that means staying clear of potential injury situations in the weeks leading up to the break.

No he didn't.

Go back a page or 2 & you'll see that, in his post match interview, he stated that he was just cramping up. Perfectly understandable after how little he's been used by his club.
If we wanted him he would have been here this season. He’s on his last legs and is just looking to the World Cup . Not surprised Madrid are pissed off with him. If they play Scotland in the play off he will have to contend with Kieran Tierney. Best of luck ....didn’t give him a kick in last years game at Arsenal. He was great for us for a couple of seasons . Leave it there.

I think it might actually happen. Make sense for both parties. But maybe that’s just my heart saying it. I want him to have a proper send off with us. Sign him up for 18-24 months. Let him go out properly

Other than location why would he want to join a midtable Championship club?

I suppose it suits him to be a guaranteed starter, in a league where you'd expect him to tear it up, than risk not playing in a league where he might look like he's going to retire struggling

High functioning squad players are hard to find.

Ageing, world class players can be excellent squad players. In his last stint with us he scored 11 in 20 league appearances. If Wiki is correct our 3rd top league scorers, outside of own goals, have 2.

A quality player who won't demand to play every game on a 1-2 year deal is a no-brainer.

I dont think he was good in his last spell despite his output that said in a 343, there's no question he could be great and there won't be too much onus on him to defend

This will be happening all over the place. Doubt we’ll see a contested 50/50 from August to February.

I guess so, but you'd think it would be better playing regularly against the top players just before a world cup. He could join a premier League team like Brentford, Newcastle or Southampton if he wanted guaranteed football.
