Quite possibly my favourite player. No one like him. Legend.

Can’t decide if the West Ham goal or the Inter goal or the Sunderland goal or the other Inter goal or the Arsenal goal or the Lyon goal or the other other Inter goal was my favourite.

Did pretty much all he could do and took his country to the two major tournaments. Glad he won't be putting on another Prem club's shirt and he'll forever be linked with us.

One of the best I have seen in my lifetime. Just a shame we didn't get to see him in his second spell with a full crowd.

That last season with us was one of the best seasons by an individual player I've ever seen. It's mad to think that he played a big role in winning several champions leagues but you could make an argument that he didn't reach his full potential.

Go and enjoy the golf Gareth.

Thanks Gareth, you gave me one of the most memorable and enjoyable days of my life. I'll never forget that day on FlightRadar. 18th September 2020. Choked up just thinking about it.

Joking aside though, he did alright didn't he?

Growing up in Australia I never had any interest in football whatsoever. My dad's always been a Spurs fan though and one night I woke up in what seemed the middle of the night and went to the toilet and heard the TV on in the lounge room so went down to find Dad watching Spurs so I stayed up and watched a bit with him. It was a sober mood as Spurs were getting hammered 4-1 which swiftly reminded me why I never liked football in the first place. Then in the blink of an eye Bale scored 2 to complete his hatrick away to the European champions and from that moment i became a Spurs fan, Bale my favourite player and I've been hooked ever since. Thanks for everything Gareth.

Not sure if anyone can remember but I posted in here around a year ago that I had some sensitive Bale info. The guy told me about Bale wanting to retire but he obviously jumped the gun slightly. Now obviously Bale has again confirmed that he will now play on a little while longer (I imagine until January) but then he will retire. This wasn't my usual source, it was from a golfing circle who said Bale wanted to try and turn pro. No idea how that's going but he was serious about it. Anyway, I imagine he will sign a 6 month contract somewhere and then call it a day after the World Cup.

Great player, one of those few players that got you out of your seat when he picked the ball up.

And to think, he started as a left back....
Be interesting to see what he does now.

Congratulations to Bale. Was an outstanding player at his prime. His ability to single handledly change a game from anyway on the pitch, in the dying minutes of the game, was remarkable. The year we first qualified for the Champions League, where he started to realize he could do almost anything, was a joy to behold. And was quite literally unstoppable in that final season for us. What happened next in his career was he won a record amount of trophies for a British player, earned enough for many generations of his family, but never quite got the respect he deserved. Part of that was the context in which he was dropped - Ronaldo’s narcissism and unwillingness to bring him into the fold. Part his own fault - “Wales, golf, Madrid”, and the general sense that he never settled in Madrid. But a highly successful career regardless with many important goals at Madrid. Still, you’re left with a sense of what could have been.

When he returned to us, once he got used again to the pace of the Premier League, I thought he was outstanding. He was excellent at dispatching mid-table and lower table opposition with his excellent shooting, timing of runs and instinct in the box. It really was a shame Mourinho did not use him enough.

he’ll forever be a Spurs legend for me.

That night in the San Siro will live long in the memory - 0-4 at HT and all the supporters were completely down in the dumps after a Wesley Sneider masterclass

Then we witnessed one of the best individual performances by a player , ever!!

Became a Superstar from that day. Was remarkable to witness

Enjoy your Golf Gareth
