He had a bad day, happens to the best of us... How about showing some loyalty and getting behind him? Poch knows what he is doing and I’m sure he will have an awesome game next week.

His errors are sticking out more because in all honesty he hasn't had as much to do this season or last, he's always had a brain fart and bit of madness in him but it was balanced when he was keeping us in games with a string of saves and some unbelievable keeping.

He hasn't had that lately because he's generally had bugger all to do. i cant remember the last game i thought "fucking hell, Hugo kept us in that one."

Real Madrid at home - we were peppered and Hugo had a very good game.

Other than that, I'd be looking to bring in some competition for his spot - his kicking particularly is pretty poor.

Quite literally don't believe what I read on here sometimes. We're a genuinely fucking brilliant football team, and we talk about "improving" on the actual footballers who make us that good.

There isn’t anyone better than him who’s attainable. He’s arguably the 3rd/4th best keeper in the EPL, behind De Gea, Courtois and Ederson. Who else is better than him? Neurer (injured and no chance of ever signing him), Ter Stegen is overrated, Navas is decent but again no better, Oblak? another good keeper but would cost a fortune and that’s even if Atletico would sell. There’s no obvious keepers whom offer experience, good shot stopping, professionalism, good foot work, speed off their line and ability to command their area. There’s keeper whom do some but not all of these but again, none that you can say hand on heart are better than Hugo.
There's obviously Allison, who Roma will sell at the right price. He's an amazing shot-stopper, who'll keep Ederson out of the the Brazil side during the World Cup. Would take big money to get him. And obviously Donnarumma, who's suffered some growing pains, but is an outstanding talent. There's some good young keepers in the Bundesliga too.

So, you know, there is talent out there, but I'd give Lloris another full season to get back to his best.

He, like all other goalkeepers will make the odd mistake, and it is the odd mistake with Lloris. Over the last 4-5 years, he's been a fantastic asset for this club and he's one of the reasons why we are where we are.

The man stood by this club when others were calling, and we were in a bit of disarray. No player is bigger than the club, but, as others have said, loyalty is a two-way street. Not only did he stay, but his leadership undoubtedly played a huge role in Poch winning over the dressing room. I will back him to lead the club out onto the pitch of the new stadium. We can discuss his long-term future next summer.

(I don't think he will age well - he is not of the same build as old shot-stoppers, who can be effective into their late-30s. He relies on quick reactions, which will slow with age. But, he is not ready to retire as a top-flight keeper just yet).

I haven't seen much of him generally, but i've seen a fair few blunders from Donnarumma in the little I have seen. Not quite convinced about him just yet.

Love Oblak myself but would cost mega money.

Loyalty works both ways - Hugo stuck with us when he had better offers and a chances of winning things - I would hope to see an improvement as agree this has been a weak season by his standards but fickle "fans" suggesting he should be sold / replaced. And lets be clear - despite a few mistakes he has not gone Petr Cech/ Joe Hart on us - still a quality keeper

Shot stoppers are great but with our high line we need a sweeper keeper. Someone who is rapid and brave off his line. There aren't many that fit our style of play like Hugo does. Poch won't abandon the high press and defensive line, so it's pointless speculating about anyone that can't play like Hugo does.

Cant somebody still rate Hugo, but still think that he hasnt been at his best this season? People get so ridiculously defensive. I back Hugo to put in the work to bounce back next year and give us a great platform to challenge for the league.

If he doesnt and he makes the same mistakes he made this season, it'll cost us.

I love Hugo but because he’s our captain and has been loyal to us doesn’t mean he’s immune to criticism. But it’s crazy if you want him to be sold, he’s still a top keeper. But with that being said I still think the club should start thinking about his replacement for the future, start scouting young goalkeepers. Alban Lafont from Toulouse is one I’ve liked for some years now and he’s still only 19

Anyhow, I don't even see the point of discussing possible successors to Hugo. He and Poch are incredibly close, he's going no where anytime soon.

We're not signing 80m players though, certainly not a goalie. We'd look for someone undervalued who could improve, or someone yet at a big club who most likely have a weak contract.
As you mention towards the end, young keeper in Bundesliga is something we'd keep our eye on.

Think we're more likely to see a Vorm replacement in the summer, rather than one for Lloris.
