So you're saying booze doesn't increase impairment in respect of one's ability to drive?Think you’re going a bit OTT before we know the facts. People can fall asleep at the wheel without any alcohol at all.

Fucking hell, can always rely on people to completely fucking over react on here.
Perhaps we should be waiting for some more details, especially regarding how far he was over the legal limit, before we say he should have the captaincy stripped or that he should be stood down from the team. There's a big difference between having one too many glasses of red and miscalculating and being 15 pints deep and driving home after a night spent clubbing.
Questioning his future at the club is ridiculous, life isn’t black and whites people make mistakes, good people are still capable of doing stupid and even bad things. He’s not the first, he won’t be the last. Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate, Van der Vaart, Luka Modric, all guilty of criminal offences in the past decade.
That would be a ridicoulously over the top reaction IMO.
Yes, it's stupid on Hugos part, but it doesn't change his footballing qualities, and his apparent role as a leader in the squad. Everyone commits mistakes, and I'm sure he'll be one of the first to admit how stupid he has been.
Sorry there’s absolutely no way he can carry on being club captain. And if you disagree with this you really have no idea about the implications of drink driving. This isn’t a silly little mistake.
Obviously he’s been a complete prat but I won’t throw him under the bus until we know the facts.
1 pint can sometimes put you over the limit depending on the person and beer.
That would be a ridicoulously over the top reaction IMO.

Questioning if he should remain as captain, from a purely PR viewpoint, I get. Questioning whether he should continue at the club is borderline hypocritical unless you yourself to have had the exact same attitude for the other players listed.
So what? The limit is where it is for a reason and frankly should probably be lower. A tiny bit over the limit is too far over the limit.Whilst I agree with the message, you don’t know all the facts and he could have just slightly been over which loads of people are every day.
Hugo is by far our #1 keeper but there is no one i’d rather have fill in for him than Vorm.If he does get dropped for Monday I'm confident Vorm can fill in for him. Couple years ago Hugo got injured and vorm came in for a home game against Liverpool and if I rememeber correctly he may have been given man of the match. The only motm Hugo has got recently is man of the moet.

Yeah nah. I'm not sure of the details of the law in the UK, but in Australia we have a legal limit of 0.05 blood alcohol content when driving. You're fine if you're 0.05, but if you slightly miscalculate and end up as 0.06 when tested you can receive fines and points on your licence. Practically, there is very little difference between 0.06 and 0.05 when it comes to the physiological changes to your reactions, perception etc, yet if you're on one of those numbers you're fine, and if not, you're fucked. "massively increase the risk of you seriously injuring or killing either yourself or other people" is massively overstating it.Not really. Both massively increase the risk of you seriously injuring or killing either yourself or other people.
Only difference being someone 15 pints deep probably wouldn’t be dim enough or have the capability to chance it IMO.
I am honestly very surprised by the some what casual response to drink driving in this thread. Do people really believe it's ok to be even just a little bit over the limit?
