Obv a joke....but on a serious note it's not a bad comparison. How did that one work out? Finally, we've replaced Christian Ziege!
That number will be including the signing on fee and bonuses mate. Journalists like to word things in a way that it'll cause the biggest sensation and 100k a week plus a signing on fee plus bonuses doesn't have the same shock factor. He won't be getting that number plus all the other benefits.Obv a joke....but on a serious note it's not a bad comparison. How did that one work out?
Was pretty happy with this until I read what his wages are. 180k a week seems ridiculous to me. Signing ageing players who' performances will only decline on big wages has been proven time and again to be a bad move. Everyone gets excited over the name and they often start well, then there's a steady decline.
With the signing on fee and wages over 2 years that's at least 25m that could've gone on a younger hungry player ready to break through, who's performances and value would increase.
Don't mean to be a damp cloth!
It's clear now that though that might be the Club's preferred and usual model for signings, it's not Conte's. There'll be time for that to happen in the years ahead, but for now Conte wants experienced first team starters. £25m for a quality, experienced winner that the manager wants isn't bad business for me.Obv a joke....but on a serious note it's not a bad comparison. So ermmmmm one Bryan Gil that the manager doesn’t want?!Obv a joke....but on a serious note it's not a bad comparison. How did that one work out?

Not to be a pedant but ambipedal is for feet and ambidextrous for hands.Seeing as this guy is ambidextrous, is it feasible that should Spence be off the table that we go after a second LWB and use Perisic on the right?

Also, I don't think we should move him from where he has had two seasons kicking ass. We have bags of time to get a RWB in.
Reminds me of Hojberg's first interview.Just want to say - what a nice bloke. He come across realy well in his interview. You just know hes going to get on.
Can we bring Luka back ?

Sure thing and Edgar Davids was definitely a shit signing at the time… William Gallas was another necessary signing in the past that worked, you need balance. Both players gave us balance and grit/bite where it was needed.Obv a joke....but on a serious note it's not a bad comparison. How did that one work out?

Why is there an obsession with the weekly wages? Total cost is the only real relevant number.
Which deal is more expensive?
A: 10 million pound fee plus 100k a week in wages for 2 years.
B: Free transfer plus 180k a week in wages for 2 years.
I know which the player prefers but what the hell, the club should prefer option B as well.
