Never got the hype.Like with most of our outgoings, you can't rave about our manager being one of the best we've ever had and call him 'magic' , watch him take us to CL finals and top 4 finishes, and then moan that he hasn't given X player a chance and that X player is really good and should be playing regularly for us and Poch is wrong. if his judgement wasn't so good we wouldn't be doing what we are doing.
Fwiw as an easy example, it's abundantly clear that both Winks and Skipp have an enthusiasm, a bit of 'get up and go' in their attitude, a 'drive' that you can see every time they play. It's appealing to the manager. On the dozen or so occasions i saw Onomah in a senior match he never once displayed that same trait. Which may be why or partly why he's fallen away. I wish him well if he leaves and will be intrigued to see what he can achieve, but if i had to bet on it, i'd definitely say 'nowhere near a top 4 side'.
