What would be the point in playing him yesterday and to break up our defensive pairing? He's just got to wait his turn and step up when called upon.
To give him some experience. It's not like the defensive pairing hasn't been broken up before.

We don't need to break them up needlessly for the sake of a players feelings, also to gain experience you need to play more than one game, he will get game time eventually.

I was disappointed he didn't play yesterday, I'd rather he made his debut yesterday than throwing him into a tough game such as Arsenal because of an injury to Verts or TA.
I think he should have played v Anderlecht but not Bournemouth.

Why mess with the proven partnership for a league game when we don't have too? Europa League is supposed to be for 2nd string in the group stage.
If Poch thinks the same he will have to wait for one of them to pick up an injury which is in no way ideal, you need to play more than one game to get experience but one game is a start and clearly a whole team of 2nd string isn't a good idea in the Europa is not a good idea if we want to progress. Also you do have to think of a players feelings it's man management, , LLoris was not happy with missing out on cup games last season and it's clear that Poch has considered his feelings on the matter. You can't expect Wimmer to want to stick around if he's just limited to cup games.

I want my team to win at all costs

Wimmer like Ben Davies will have plenty of opportunities to play, he is 3rd choice behind one of the most solid defensive pairings in the league, I would expect he himself knows that he has a fight on his hands to break up Toby and Jan. Of course in an ideal world you'd want to keep everyone happy and motivated but everyone knows it's a squad game and we play a lot of games in the season so there will be chances in the future.

Also the more that Toby and Jan play together the better it is for the team as with each game they play they get more comfortable with each other, we don't need to be complacent and tinker with the team just because we play lesser teams, they're the kind of mistakes that catch us out.

Going out of the league cup so early really was a blow in terms of giving him game time. I suspect he will start the next Europa league game. He must have know he wasn't coming in as first choice though.

How will there be plenty of opportunities for him to play in the premiership if you don't want to break up Verts and TM? Wimmer also needs to be comfortable playing with both. If you're scared of him playing against Bournemouth, then I can't see a game where you're comfortable with playing him.

In the future to cover injures, suspension and loss of form.

Nothing about be scared, it just doesn't make sense to break up a strong partnership against lesser opposition, we need to keep that familiarity going.

Like I said that isn't ideal he might have to wait a long time until he gets a game if at all, Poch might decide to play Dier there to cover with someone else taking his role as DM. If you look at Arsescum they had 3 CB all comfortable playing together, Adams, Bould and Keown we should look to do the same.

Yep well so be it, that's what happens when you have good players in the team and a good squad.

Why would Poch decide to play Dier as a CB when he's been playing in as a DMF, Wimmer is clearly 3rd choice at the moment, don't actually understand that thinking about Dier, why would someone else take his role when he is first choice DMF?

I'm saying if verts or TM get injured he might decide to play Dier there, Dier after all has much more prem experience than Wimmer. It would depend on how long they were out for.

Poch played Dier as a DMF and Wimmer as a CB against Arsenal in the Cup, there's no evidence to say that he'll start playing Dier over Wimmer, basically it's bollocks Mullers, you know this yet you're persisting with any angle to try and justify your weak argument.

I'm done.

Ok, but I don't believe it's bollocks or that my argument is weak.

Wimmer, Trippier and now Davies should be given chances in games in Europe, the League Cup (which on this occasion didn't work) and early rounds of the FA Cup. Ultimately, they need to be given some game time so they are ready for when Jan, Toby, Kyle or Danny get injured.

It makes no sense to play them in the Premier League when things are going so well just to give them experience.

Bullshit point, if us having a big squad hinges on the fact we do well in all competitions well then that isn't a sustainable squad and a waste of money

Personally I think Poch would move Dier to CB rather than play Wimmer and play Bentaleb/Dembele with Mason and Alli

I dont agree with Mullers, he shouldn't have played against Bournemouth but Im struggling to understand why wimmer didn't play in EL. Again its not really sustainable to have so many players if they aren't going to play in the EL. At least with the EL he could have been eased in with Toby instead of throwing him in with Fazio.

You do fear for him if he has to play for the first time in a couple of weeks against a PL team
