He could barely walk off the pitch 3 days ago. If there’s zero weakness in his groin then he’s a medical miracle.
If I was poch I’d be far from happy. Especially when he has Alexander Arnold available.

And the fact he's playing now highly suggests the limping off wasn't related to his groin, but was probably cramped up to buggary. Cleary the groin injury was nothing otherwise he wouldn't be playing now.

With his passing, crossing and set pieces, it's made me wonder why he's a defender and not a midfielder.

Was he "Danny Rose'd" at City, or has he always been a right back?

I don't really know what this means, but it sounds pretty cool! Nice to see Trippier get the recognition he earned. Hope he continues his form this season.

England player Kieran Trippier is to be awarded the freedom of his home town of Bury after his stellar World Cup performance.

The 27-year-old defender became only the third England player to score in a World Cup semi-final when his free-kick put Gareth Southgate’s men 1-0 up against Croatia on Wednesday.

Victory for England was not to be, but Trippier was widely regarded as one of the team’s best players of the tournament.

His performances are to be rewarded with a formal civic honour in the town in Greater Manchester where he grew up.

“Kieran and his England team-mates have given a huge amount of joy for local people with their incredible performances during the World Cup,” said the leader of Bury council, Rishi Shori.

“To reach the semi-final for only the third time in England’s history is an amazing achievement. I was nine years the old the last time it happened – I am a lot older now.”

Shori added: “Kieran himself was outstanding, scoring a penalty in the shootout with Colombia and of course that unforgettable free kick against Croatia. He is now only third Englishman to have scored in a World Cup semi and certainly the first from Bury.

“He deserves to be acknowledged. He is a huge role model to younger people and hopefully can inspire the next generation of footballers in Bury.”

Indeed. Would be interested to see him at CM

I don't know if his central play has been demonstrated enough, and it'd be a waste of his crossing ability if he wasn't wide, I just don't know why he's not an option, for example, instead of Sissoko. We could play KWP and have a decent defender with dribbling, and have KT a bit further up who has good technique, crossing and passing ability.

How come he did not make the list of the goal of the tournament, when his free kick was as good as ronaldo's

Was Ronaldo's free kick the equaliser against Spain near the end of the match? That might be why. In the same way that they gave Chadli's goal even though there were better.

Kieran Trippier has been a credit to himself, England & Spurs. He had shown why he is so highly regarded at Spurs. If you listened to the press before the World Cup all you would have heard were superlatives about Trent Alexander-Arnold! Delusional Liverpool fans claiming him to be the best full-back in the Premier League, completely overlooking what the vast majority on these forums already knew, that Tripp's was in a different league to the Liverpool player. Not doubt by the start of the season the Liverpool bias press will have the Liverpool youngster well ahead of our man but we all know who the much better footballer is #COYS❤
