You just can’t be a top draw FB in the PL without pace. You will always get exposed in one on one. At least it’s been majorly highlighted and I’d imagine he is now on thin ice. Said for ages as we have Aurier/kwp I’d convert him to a midfielder. Can easily slot in on right of a 3.

I agree and said same before. He was a midfielder previously I believe at City too. His passing range is very very decent. Plays some. Lovely balls at times. And has good vision too. Just not great at defending.

I just don't get how we can all see he's playing poorly and we have a promising player like KWP waiting so why??

Trippier has never been the best defender but he's not providing much offensively at the moment so what is the point in continually playing him?

I really do hope now we've got the high profile games out of way in City in league and PSV in champions league that KWP gets a chance against West Ham in the league cup at right back (NOT left back).

I'll really despair if Poch decides to ease Aurier back in as it would be an ideal game to blood a few more options.

What annoyed me even more than the header was the pathetic stiff leg challenge he made in the box when Sterling beat him. It was just all round atrocious play from Trippier, 6 minutes into a huge game which ultimately cost us the 3 points.

Then, he had the audacity to scream and point and blame Lloris.

I've long suspected Trippier is an extremely arrogant football player who thinks he is far better than he is. A few good games at the world cup against average opposition, and a freekick or two and he thinks he's world class. He's a very average player who occasionally looks good, a bit like Davies unfortunately.

Honestly don’t think the others players rate him. Sanchez face told a story and Alderweireld seems to constantly be having words with him.

Wow. Great loyalty from our fans. Nice to see.
He had a shit game. It happens.
But he is class and still better than most.
Agree he's better in a 5.
His strength is attacking not defending.
Davies is the opposite and gets moaned at for opposite reason.
There just arent many who are good at both.
Walker for example couldnt and still cant cross a ball to save his life.
We played the Champions ffs not a shower of shit.
If he performs like that week in week out against dross then by all means nail him up butcome on get real.

Read somewhere that he's one of the highest chance creators in the league this season

True but Trippiers crossing has been crap for quite a while now. All those chance created are now set pieces that a Spurs player gets a head on or one of his clipped passes, that he does play very well, crosses from open play not so much.

If you’ve watched this season, you’ll find that he has performed like this week in and week out. Especially the last few weeks where he has managed to out do himself and go lower everytime you’d think he’s hit rock bottom. He’s been absolutely atrocious all season. Last good game was in July. Last good game for us was in May. There’s something wrong with him and we cant afford to let him figure it out on the pitch as it continues to cost us. He needs to he dropped

He hasn't been that bad but there's a stat going round which says that the majority of goals we've conceded this season are from his side however like I said he's apparently providing a lot of chances for our forwards which is probably why Poch picks him.

The only way I see him working in a back 4 is if he plays with someone like Sissoko in front of him to help him out, at least he provides some physicality and pace when he goes forward, nevertheless I think it's about time Aurier was first choice now, he was hitting some form before he got injured and was one of our best players on the pitch against Inter and Watford.

I’d rather have Davies than Trippier for a full back. Trippier can go back to a mid table team where he belongs. He’s such a liability in our defense as is Hugo. At least Davies can defend I don’t care if he is good offensively or not it’s not his job. He is a DEFENDER.

Davies isn't arrogant at all though...seems down to earth to me - but his ceiling is nowhere near our required standard, I agree

If you have no pace as a full back, then you need to be cute and position-ally sound. Unfortunately this does not apply to Trippier on both accounts.
I have said on this forum before. City binned him, and you can see why they did just this.

Actually i think that these days it's very important for fullbacks to be able to bring something offensively, at least pace! Davies has nothing with going forward, can't cross a shit and is slow. Too many times kicks the ball straight to a first opponents player when trying to create something. And our opponents know that, they don't need to worry about Davies and it's a fucking problem! Remember when Rose and Walker gave something to worry about with their phase and physique, ok they weren't the most clever players maybe but defensively solid and very good at delivering ball to offense and forcing opponent to give space to our other players. Those days are gone and I want them back!!

That doesn't really mean that much though.
