Any change of heart?
No. There was no need to play him against Stoke. We were winning the game, so there was no point complaining about it. Against City, we were losing, so bringing him on was a good idea. He did well, so I'd be happy to see him start against Brighton.

Don't take back anything I said though, Lucas not playing wasn't a big deal whilst we were on a good winning run.

Why bring anyone on when we are winning.
Here is a bloke that has talent and wasnt being played too much.
We brought Lamela on. What is he on for? defending a lead AGAINST STOKE?

Typically it's a good idea to bring on defensive players or players with a high work rate when you're defending a tight lead.

You say 'AGAINST STOKE' but have you completely forgotten the fact that they probably should've scored one or two more?

They could have. Anyone could have. Even we could have.
My point was we had City and United coming up.
Moura hadnt played much.
It was an opportunity to use him from the off or half the game.
We lack ideas sometimes, even that game we were exeedingly dominant. Playing Moura for say half a game would gave been sensible for many reasons.

Get Moura a good pre season with Poch...I truly believe we have a top player in our midst.

Shown some glimpses already, but this isn't even Moura at full on beast mode yet...scary.

All for the bargain price of anywhere between £23-28 million dependant on whom you believe.

Can't wait to see a bit of Brazilian flair in our new stadium next season.

Tbh mate I find it bizarre that you're still really bothered by the fact that Moura didn't play for a half against Stoke - a game we won.

That totally depends on what stage of the game it is, your opponents and the game situation is at the time.

Sometimes it’s best to make a positive step to try and kill the game, particularly if some of the attacking players already on the field aren’t being effective.

I agree I think he brings some class to a game

Against Stoke at 2-1 the game needs a lot if killing still. If its the last 5 minutes ok..kill it
But if we believe in what we do I think going to secure the win by more than one goal makes more sense.

In the words of the immortal Elsa - let it go...

Stoke was not the right match for him to come in - physical side, defending a lead - we needed a more trusted defensive AM - Lamela. Its not a conspiracy to keep Lucas out of the squad. I think he has a great future here - but it takes time to get up to speed - and understand all the responsibilities with the position. It took Son a while to acclimate too...

I hope he starts against Brighton - I like watching him play - but we have good depth at AM - and not every player is the right fit in a given circumstance.

Tbh I thought bringing moura on instead of Lamela would’ve been better.

Stoke were pushing hard and we had lots of space on the counter.

In fact I remember Lamela messing a few of those attacks up.

Anyway that’s the past and I’m looking forward to the future

Poch always wants the new players to convince him he is worth it but sometimes doesnt give them time.
I could see his quality every tine he has played for us. He has got a good eye for the game and is confident...he alsi has good ball control. I would like to see him in the Brighton game too. Against City he showed he has the class in any case. He can only help Tottenham in my opinion.
Too many times we play with a frantic style..Moura is calmer as he has great ball control

Needs to start playing ahead of Lamela on the basis of their respective performances yesterday.
I think though that Lamela is great at pressing and Moura is great at ball control and thats somethingblacking with Lamela. Great flicks and pressing but a lack of control.
Moura can hold and create. Lamela can press and do something great in one move, one flick.

I think Lamela’s technique is useful against busparkers, but his lack of pace was badly exposed yesterday. It was embarrassing watching him trying to waddle away from City’s defence on the rare occasions we broke through their press in the first half.
