Just from a marketing perspective, this is an amazing opportunity. One of the most famous and (at one time) most coveted footballers in the world. If he is indeed a success then just imagine what it will do for the profile of Spurs worldwide. I wonder what the thinking behind the signing actually is? Could be stellar for the club.

Let's not go overboard. It isn't Neymar we're signing.

Not sure he's one of the most famous footballers in the world, I think there must be about a hundred that are more famous. But i agree that, if he does well, it can be only good for commercial stuff.

Just reading a report then about this kid. In 2012 PSG bought him for 45 million after beating AF at MU. That was quite alot of money for the time and he was only 19. We are pretty much paying half that.

Totally disagree. We were even foolishly drooling over the thought of signing him on here before he signed for PSG. He was famous then as a prospect and is still famous. If he manages to resurrect his career at Spurs he will once again be a star of hugely marketable proportions which in turn will elevate the clubs profile. This guy is known worldwide.

Kane, moura, son in a front 3 being fed by eriksen and with wanyama sweeping up behind....:nailbiting:. Counter attack heaven me-thinks.
As for alli..as young as he still is i think he needs to be challenged more for his place instead of being rolled out every game in hope that he will become magic again.

Get it sewn up

The same people that are moaning about this probably would have been salivating at the thought of signing him for more money when he was younger and a lot more could have gone wrong.

This guy has undoubted quality and a point to prove. He could also be a replacement for any of our AM, which should give them a point to prove.

It’s a no brainer. Especially at that price.

You say Alli needs to be challenged more and you drop him out of the starting XI, yet Lucas hasn't even signed yet and hasn't proven anything.

I believe as he gets upto speed and gametime under his belt he will be more of an impact on games than alli yes. To start of course not but give it a few games off the bench and people will be screaming for him to start and over who eh? Certainly not kane/son/eriksen ir a holding mid like wanyama so only leaves one option. Alli has been poor for the most part.

They all need to be challenged, including Lucas himself. It’s through the increased quality of the whole group that will help us improve collectively. They all certainly need challenging after such performances as last weekend!

Yes yes thats right i do because i back poch to get the best out of a player and especially a very talented one with a point to prove. Youre talking as though lucas moura has had a double leg transplant:rolleyes: when hes a fantastic player who at his best would probably be good enough for any team. Moura just needs backing and an opportunity. I was simply giving my view on how i see the team going forward.

Not seen him play & I would be somewhat cautious if we sign him, because our record with Brazilian players isn't great. I was quite excited when we brought Sandro, Paulinho, Gomes & Gilberto even, but none of them made a significant difference to us.

At no point did I disagree with that. I just think that Lucas shouldn't start straight away.

I didn't even criticise Lucas as a player ffs. Just saying I think he should earn his place.

Yes, they did. They did make a significant difference to us.

ok sure it may have been a bad difference most of the time but my point stands.

I can see why people on here have made the Townsend comparison.

But really other than the physical similarities, and one particular backheel move shown off by both, Moura seems to be less one dimensional with better ball control.

He may not be a tricky dribbler like Alli, Hazard or Willian (hardly a criticism!) but he’s far more skilful than Andros was at Spurs.

Whether he can adapt to the Premier League and shine is another Q.

Gomes and Sandro certainly made a difference for us. The other two not so much.

There's always a vocal minority, but anyone who is less positive about Moura than Sissoko needs their head examined.

He's a very good player. United nearly signed him before he went to PSG for what was then big money. And despite losing his place in the team it's not like he's been sitting around for years and years. Last year he scored 18 goals (and no I don't care how many were tap ins or penalties), which is 18 more than Sissoko scored last season, and 3 more than Sissoko has scored since 2011.

We need more goals from throughout the team, not just Kane, and he'll provide a great option on the right. Would he walk into United or City's team? Maybe not. But we've a chance to sign a major talent, still only 25, for one-sixth (!) of the price that Coutinho went for. The market is insane and the fact that he's not first choice for PSG is clouding some people's minds, I think. They've got fucking Neymar, Cavani and Mbappe up front lol.

Maybe he won't work out (although if you're reading this, Lucas, that's not a get-out clause) but it's the kind of shrewd signing that we need to keep making until our revenues allow us to splash out a bit more. Zaha is the same age, got fewer than half as many goals last year, and would cost literally twice as much, if not more.

I'm not saying we should all be dancing in circles in daisy-strewn fields, but right now I can't see any real downside to this transfer. Quality flair forward with pace and a good track record for a bargain.
You know, another advantage he comes with is drawing defenders away from Kane. Teams will be wary of his speed and probably shift a CB further wide to cover the fullback. I think he will pan out to be a solid signing for Spurs. Now all that’s left is to get him to put pen to paper.

Food for thought for those thinking we are signing a PSG reject.

Ignoring the pretty obvious aspect that Mbappe and Neymar are two of the world's very best players who restrict his first team chances, it seems that PSG are forcing the player out due to needing to comply with regulations. As Moura plays in the same position as both Mbappe and Neymar and considering the status of these players, it's unthinkable to substitute or rotate either of these players, especially when egos come into play. Which is one way to look at his lack of appearances, but I think this has allowed PSG to identify players who they could offer around to other clubs, and Moura was probably the number one option to do this. We were linked with him last summer but there were also rumours that he did not want to leave as he was settled in Paris and his wife was heavily pregnant, therefore he probably refused to entertain any offers. Reading into this situation and his statuses on social media it appears to me that this is a player who has been ostracised from the club and made to feel very unwelcome.

So , we aren't getting a player who couldn't get into this PSG team, we are getting player who has purposely had his game time restricted to ensure that he feels he needs to leave. IMO

What's your point?

Dele scores a lot of "tap ins" so does sessegnon and most of sterlings goals this season have been "tap ins"

It reaches a point when someone scores so many "tap ins" that you have to say they have good positioning and it's not just something you can undermine them with anymore
Remember when they said Kane could only score tap ins? :ROFLMAO:

Is he really that famous? I didn’t think he was that well known. I mean I know a lot of people probably know is name, but he isn’t the type of player to have his own line of shoes or tracksuits is he?
