Don't think it matters much. Presumably Pochettino has been preparing himself and the team for a while. He doesn't strike me as a guy who wakes up and tosses in an unknown factor in such a high profile match.

The worst thing about that was that it probably was pre-meditated, and that he didn't go "no wait, that could be suicide" (or whatever the equivalent of that is in Spanish "No, merda, sonos todos mortos, mortos!!".)

I know a work permit isn't an instantaneous decision, but surely it's something the club would have been able to apply for right at the start of the process, or at least when it became clear that this was likely to happen.

Unless there's some odd thing about work permits I don't understand - can it only be applied for once the contracts etc. are fully signed off on?

Didn’t they manage to get extremely quick clearance for Davinson Sanchez in the summer, in very similar circumstances?

Don’t want to drag the thread off topic, but that match clearly had a massive psychological effect on both us and Dortmund moving forward. It isn’t as simple as saying we’d still have qualified if we hadn’t won that. Football is about momentum, confidence and belief a lot of the time.

Yep. Pretty sure Harry even said after that game and the draw away to Madrid that the Champions League games didn't seem as daunting as they did at first. Was a huge psychological boost for the squad.

One of the best attributes he has is his ability to accelerate away from his marker once he has received the ball, he can also change direction pretty rapidly too. This may give our attack a real boost. We don't really have anyone who can do that. Sonny can twist and turn but not as quick as Lucas
