When was the last time he was in nt? I was just wondering does he have any chance to get some kind of role in it.

As much as I understand that his positioning off possession and defensive work rate needs work, I don't really understand why Pochettino at certain moments in the past weeks didn't go "screw it, we need goals now more than a perfect high pressing defensive wizard, so I'll chuck Lucas on and hope for the best".

Doesn't sound like Mauricio Pochettino to me.

He's not really done anything to show he should be in the team yet, except for being a shiny new signing.

Guy has a tonne of work to do in terms of understanding the system etc. I wouldn't expect him to get significant minutes between now and next season. But he should be set and ready to go from the off next season which is the main thing.

The only thing that surprised me against Swansea was his lack of off the ball sprints. There were a few times when we picked up possession in the middle of the pitch and a few of the times I thought he may be looking to sprint into spaces but he was slowly jogging forward. I know a lot of people thought he was better on the right but I think he was a lot more active, forward thinking and forward running from the left in the second half.

Like said when he has a pre season and more of understanding of our system he'll become a great addition I'm sure of that.

Like what I've seen of him so far. Quick, pacey, likes to dribble and got the ability to make through passes quite good. Needs more time on the pitch to get comfortable with the PL so I'm sure he'll be great next season

Cos Poch is great with his subs innit!!!!

Funny cos that's exactly what should have been the case the other day when we went 1-0 up against Juventus, or even when we went 1-1 against Juve... Hmm. Seems like the sub choices aren't making sense.

I get the feeling you must fancy Poch the way you are always trying to jump on his back. Being so overtly harsh towards him to not let your true love show...(y) Its cool man, most of us love him too - you don't have to pretend anymore...

Be honest, do you prefer him in a suit or sportswear??:D

Got to feel a bit sorry for Lucas. Benched in France and here. Wonder if he puts it in at the training ground.

There is no problem with Lucas attitude. He is just a victim of spurs success and his fitness was behind the rest of the squad when he joined the team.

Spurs has been winning and Son, Eriksen, Dele are all in form. No way Lucas is going to start over those 3 and off the bench, he is behind Lamela who is a damn good player in his own right.

If we are chasing the game and need pace and a spark off the bench, Lucas will get his chance. But we haven’t been chasing the game in the 2nd half at all since Lucas joined the club. Only the Liverpool game, but that was Lucas first week at the club and he didn’t have the required fitness yet.

His level of involvement is no surprise. And anyone who thought he'd be involved more obviously hasn't paid too much attention to how Pochettino integrates players into the squad. He wasn't fit when he arrived, and he probably still isn't Poch fit. The best thing about the signing is he's starting to learn all the methods now when we don't really need him, he'll get a full pre-season and should be ready and raring to go right from the off next year.

I see moura as a very similar situation to Son's in his first season with us. Takes some players time to reach Poch's levels to actually play.

It's unfortunate for him, World Cup-wise, although the current coach just doesn't seem to fancy him anyway, but in a perverse way that means he'll get a full Poch pre-season to be schooled in our ways.

He seems an enthusiastic guy. Let’s hope his lack of appearances doesn’t knock it out of him.

I agree with everyone who says he needs to get time to get used to how we work. Poch intimated as much when he joined. He said something about being at psg is different to here.

Poch would have made the situation very clear to him before he signed. Look at Rose as an established first team player, not fit enough, not playing.

Lucas time will come.

And Juventus... when he put lorrente on. Doh.

I didn’t realise he literally didn’t play for PSG this season, what is it 5 league appearances, 3 of them as a sub? We’ve heard how happy Poch is with him in training and that’s reflected by him being on the bench every week but to be expect him to be challenging for a starting spot is a bit far fetched. As you said, he’s a lot to learn and from a fitness perspective we’re being overly ambitious given he’s hardly played any football this season. I’m glad we signed him though as very good players don’t become available that often and come next season I expect him to be a big asset for us.

Poch should start him against Brighton.

He's a game-changer and such a player to come off the bench is something we have lacked. An attacking player whose specialty is dribbling and by extension take an opposition player or two out of the picture by individual play.

If we're struggling in the semi final which is the biggest game of the season now, that's when we cry out for a game changer. Lamela and Son will alternate from starting the game and being a sub, but who is the next attacking sub? Sissoko?

We only have City and Brighton before the S/F. He won't start against City I'm pretty sure, so Brighton is the game we unleash him from the start and see if he can build ahead of steam.
