He's a club veteran and cult hero. It's just a shame we've kept him so long he looks a shadow of his old self. Same with Vertonghen, even Dembele in his last season and Lloris this season. Always hard to see these players at the end.

It's always sad when players leave that you've been watching for years, but when you see Lucas in tears because he loves the club so much, it really gets to you. Makes you want to say, "just give him a new contract!". I hope he comes back in some capacity when his career is finished.

The man is class, and gave us some of our best moments supporting Spurs.
Deserved to be given more of a chance sometimes (and played when shouldn't have been more recently).
Always gave everything he had when he played, and deserved his place in the champions league final.
Will always be a Spurs legend for me 🥰

Seems like the right time to part ways, but his amazing hatrick will always be remembered as one of the best moments watching spurs.

He's going to be another one of those foreign players that has spurs as "his club" once retired.
