I always liked Dembele, but sadly I think his hip problem has held him back and it only seems to get worse....

For a player who beats players so easily there is rarely much at the end of it. I always wondered what he would be like played wide left for us....he has the stamina to go up and back....what would he be like delivering from the left?

He was awful yesterday. He was so easily pressed into a mistake, his passes were mis-weighted and he just looked a shell of the guy that used to drop his shoulder and glide past players for fun.

He'd glide past a player then hesitate and let the player back at him in truth. Not like he was beating people and going clear of them.

He's rubbish, 15 million just thrown away, double the price of Jenas and not half as good.
Now the hip injury can't be used as an excuse any more, he has been found out.

Have to agree, he's really got nothing on Jenas and Hudd in their pomp.

He needs to go, along with Capoue and Paulinho

Really tragic trio of CMs we wasted 42mill pounds on! Sell all 3 for 25-30mill and we'll be way better off

The constant reference to his hip injury annoys me anyway. This injury goes back to his Fulham days, so we should have done our homework. That's what happens though when you panic buy at the end of most transfer windows.

I think its bollocks, if he really had an injury still he would've had some kind of surgery on it surely? It hasnt been in the media since 2012. His lack of passing ability has been found out and is now exploited by our opponents

Always was one of those players who flattered to deceive, he'd have the odd game where he'd really shine and lead people to believe the regular poor performances were the exception, whereas in fact they have always been the norm and the days when he shone were the exception. Another David Bentley

We've all done it as kids had those odd great games where you can do no wrong, every shot goes in, or every pass finds a team mate, every tackle you win the ball and then the next dozen games you wonder why it all seems to have gone Pete Tong, in reality it hasn't, it actually all went a little Pete on the good day

Wasn't a panic buy, but he was going cheap because of a contract clause and his stock was high after doing quite well for Fulham one season.

Was quite obviously the man to replace Modric's creativity and drive and was obviously AVB's first choice....I mean we always get the right players that the managers want to do the job, don't we?! Hmmmmmn...

Who's running out of contract this summer we can get cheap that won't really be the player we want or fit the system we may want to play, but we might make a profit on? Fuck the team, let's think money here as that's what it's all about sure.

I still think that somewhere there is a top class player waiting to happen.. Unfortunately the waiting game is becoming far too painful. I'm worried that if he went elsewhere he'll suddenly be the player that we all thought he would be and this will be at our expense.. I could though be proved wrong.

I wouldn't call £15m cheap

Fulham supporters said he was a rabbit in headlights once he got anywhere near the 18 yard line. Was world class in his ability to beat a player but didn't really do anything with it after that

They of course we're absolutely spot on

So completely inexperienced Mason showed him up so much it was pretty embarrassing and a little sad

I seem to remember it was 90%+ positivity when Dembele was linked/signed for us.

Funny how it's the club's fault now that you all have the luxury of hindsight.

I think you guys are being way to harsh on Dembele.

Of course he is not playing to the level we have seen him play let alone fulfilling his potential and yesterday was another example of that. However, even when he is average he still puts in a good defensive display. The frustration with him was not what he did without the ball it was what he'd do with the ball.

I have seen more from Dembele that would influence me to pick him above Paulinho for a squad place and unless we bring in a player who is better he should stay.

90% positive with the usual suspects on here that cream their pants about literally anything that has a pulse. Others knew from ITK's etc that he was hardly a Modders replacement

To say he should play ahead of Paulinho is not a glowing reference. That guy has been a statue for longer than I care to remember

There is no doubt that Dembele flatters to deceive and many have been had for far too long. Obviously you don't ship him out unless you have cover but we must be looking to move him on

Think he needs to move on he has gone bit stale with us. The problem with moving him on will be Levy will probably want to get most of the £15 million we paid for him back much like he will with the fees Paulinho and Capoue. Most of us realise that isn't going to happen and for these three players we will be lucky to get half of what we paid for them back. so we could be stuck with them till there contracts run out much like we were with Gomes and now BAE.

Where does the notion that he was ever intended to be one come from? We were after Moutinho as the Modric replacement (unless, of course, you're one of the tinfoil hat brigade that actually believes Levy sabotaged that deal because he couldn't bear to part with the money).
