Hi guys,

We've written a bit about Sissoko's recent form, which we've been impressed with – you can read that here.

Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks,

Thomas

Poor opening statement:

"The France international enjoyed a stellar final season at St James’ Park, and while nobody questioned his value to the Magpies, there were questions over how he would fit in at Spurs."

He certainly didn't have a stellar final season, or any season, at Newcastle. As many, probably more, questions were asked of his ability rather than his ability to fit into our team.

If a full article/blog piece were to be devoted to Sissoko's recent form, I would have liked to read far less about recounting historical facts, and more about what he actually is or is not longer doing on the pitch these days. These types of topics have so much more potential with proper graphics and more investigating pros and cons sort of insight. Everybody knows he moved for loads of money. Everybody knows he moved from Newcastle. Everybody knows he didn't play much last season. 400-500 words on a historical background is not necessary when there are only 400-500 words looking into the heart of the topic. Anyway, that's my two cents.

He is playing well, why do you think he keeps on being picked by a manager who pick players in the team on merit?

injuries and suspensions. Im not here to slate him because I appreciate his efforts this season but I think if Dembele and Vic were fit and Alli available for the CL, Sissoko would be getting fewer minutes. turns out the minutes have done him good.

Love Poch but the fact he's picking Sissoko over Winks coz he's big and fast pisses me off. Winks is superior in pretty much every other facet of the game.

Pleased he's doing better than last season but that's hardly saying much. He's gone from a 3/10 to a 6. He's doing a job, nothing more. This talk of him playing really well is exaggerating imo.

Use your common please. Winks is being nursed back from injury. Aside from that we are lacking presence and a ball carrier, and that is what Sissoko offers. I am not his biggest fan, but fair does, he has stepped up, though not setting the world alight. He certainly is doing a job. Maybe not to some people's liking, but he is.

Maybe he thinks that having a player that likes to receive the ball in space rather into feet is good for the overall team balance.

I said he's doing a job I just think Winks would do a much better one. He's already showed more in his first game back than anything Sissoko has shown us since we signed him.

You said it yourself, it was his first game back. Winks was quoted as saying that the League Cup match was the first time he's felt fully comfortable since his injury, and obviously it takes a bit of time to work back to full fitness and match sharpness.

He looks pretty comfortable too. Ready enough to get picked over Sissoko, IMHO

They play two very different roles in the team, Sissoko drives forward with the ball and pulls the opposition out of their shape while Winks sits deeper and sprays the ball around, setting the tempo. They both have their uses.

With Dembele out seemingly indefinitely Sissoko is going to have an important role to play until January (at least). He's doing his job reasonably well and we need to get behind him.

Yes, they're totally different footballers.

All I'm saying is with Dembele out Winks should play ahead of Sissoko. It's a personal preference, I prefer what Winks brings to the table. Obviously he's just come back but he looks pretty fit and I personally think the gulf in technical ability between the 2 trumps any potential risk from him breaking down coz he was rushed back a bit to early.

Can never fault his effort for us and there's been no reports of bad attitude, there definatly is a useful squad player in there with physical attributes we lack

I feel like he's a player who needs a bit of love and hearing the fans sing his name was nice

He seemed to even have like mini-secret handshake with Dele and Son. A motivated and well performing Moussa Sissoko can only mean good things for us, I do hope it continues.
