I never thought I’d see the day when I actively want Sissoko to start against Arsenal - even if he’d had a nice rest let alone it meaning he would’ve played 3 massive high profile games in a week!

Still shocked by his turnaround in form and still loving every minute of it. 89th minute winner on Sunday please.

Again with the price - we had this with Lamela if anyone actually bothered to see what kind of player Sissoko was when we purchased him and didn't base their opinions off how much we paid for him and how much he's earning then maybe the opinions would have been different and expectations wouldn't be so high in the first place.

But the again I wouldn't expect casual football fans to do that so...

That’s such a ridiculous post I don’t know where to begin. Players since the dawn of time have been rated against their price. To think otherwise is frankly absurd.

Anyone who couldn’t see Sissoko was terrible in the first years of him being here is rewriting history.

Sorry. Of all the current players Kane is closest to attaining legend status, and that will get bestowed at the end of his career. You don’t get close to the likes of Blanchflower, Perryman, Hoddle and King by having a decent run of 5 or 6 games. It’s great he’s now showing he’s a real asset and has a role in our team / squad, and we should show him some love, but let’s keep legend status for the true greats.

He is our new Freund!

I’d rather he scored a 1st minute screamer to start the 5 goal rout! :)

reading all the comments from a few seasona ago about him, i stand by everything i said about him at the time.

But fuck me he has now shown us what he is capable of (i think this kinda makes is a tad more fristrating. where the fuck has THIS Sissoko been for 2 years!?) Anyway last night i was sat on my own in front of the tv screaming his name as he powered through and laughing at myself. Never thought i'd see the day.

Reminds me a bit of freund now. limtied but does what he has to do well, a big hard bastard and the fans loved him for.

Fair play you big fucker. Now go get the winner on Sunday and i will get a shirt with your name printed on it.

Not every player should be rated against their price, that's the point, bringing up their wage packet is just nonsense as if we have the right to say how much a player should be earning. He earns that because he's an estsblished member of a squad competing for the top 4 in the richest league in the world and the club saw fit to pay him that wage, it should just be left as that.

Players have no control over how much their worth, the market controls it hence why players like Coutinho are to be valued over £100m, no one in their right mind should be worth that much but that is the market.

The price thing is an interesting one. In a perfect world a player would not be judged against his earnings.

But as a team in this corrupt capitalist system we cannot pay everyone top dollar.

So when we pay a full international top money it is with the hope that he will perform to a high level.

Viva la resistance and Sissoko is on our banner for being the abused 1%

Maybe Jenas. Although he was better technically than Sissoko, when confident they will both run with the ball and power past opponents. When not confident they’ll do f-all.

Bit of jenas in terms of the driving runs but reality is he does it far more. Bit like zokora and terms of the ball cardyung at pace but with more substance, offensively and defensively. Bit like palacios or more recently Wanyama with the sheer determination but far more pace and forward thrust. Truth is, he not like any of them really, he’s probably the first true box to box player we’ve had. As I’ve said a few times, the only really similar player I can think of is Essien before the injuries. I wouldn’t go as far as saying Vieira as Vieira was very skilful to boot, more like Yaya Toure.

Who would have thought this day would come? He has turned into fucking Vieira! He's gone from looking like someone who never played football before in his life, to our midfield backbone! He's been different class and I am shocked and delighted in equal measures.

And this is from someone who would actually go nuts with anger whenever he was named in the starting XI.

It's certainly the most amazing turnaround I've ever seen of a Spurs player's fortunes and form. It's also the sort of really annoying thing Arsenal players used to do when they were better than us. Our rivals must be wondering what the fuck this is all about and that must annoy the fuck out of them, which makes it even funnier.

Reminds me of Zokora when he used to make a powerhouse run through the middle in the 85th minute. The difference is that Zokora used to end his run with a theatrical crash to the ground whereas Sissoko just keeps going and is now finding a final ball as well.

strange, at the start of the season and throughout last season, I'd groan whenever I saw his name on the team sheet. Now if he were to be injured, I'd be really upset.

Hope he keeps it up, but never have i been so wrong about a player before
You weren't wrong. None of us were. He was absolute pants. And I get Poch saying we need to be supportive, I agree with that, but there was no more optimism to be had over Sissoko given how he was playing.

But now, fuck yeah I'll be optimistic if his form dips, because he's finally showing what he's all about! And it's miraculous because he's gone from shit to an absolute beast in the blink of an eye!

It goes to show that Poch is no fool and knows best I guess...!

first time i saw him live (CL match at Wembley) i thought i was watching the football version of 'faking it' i.e he was an imposter faking it as a profession footballer or we'd signed his brother by accident.
IMO its a transformation of miracle proportions compared to what i witnessed that night.
