Yes. I do.
Spurs will owe Newcastle £30m for Sissoko.
It doesn't really matter whether that's £6m over 5 years or £5m over 6 years or £1m over 30y.
As you can imagine, actual transfers are almost all far more complex than "the fee" but basically in answer to your question: yes, honestly.

People somehow don't get this! So what if it's paid in instalments, 99% of deals are. So what if they owe us money for Andros. Sissoko means £30M off our balance sheet.

I asked the first question. I mean if you don't know and no one else knows besides those actually involved, then it's all guess work. 30 million was quoted on the night by Sky and then latterly by the BBC.

Now if I was to base that total Vs the opinion of folks on this site and else where of how Levy deals I would say that something doesn't add up. 30 million for albeit an international but an international who just got relegated ... Same man, Levy, is supposedly renowned for his negotiating skills.

For the internet argument record, I don't mind holding my hand up though if someone shows me that Tottenham Hotspur are locked in 100% to pay Newcastle United 30 million pounds in installments or otherwise for Moussa Sissoko.
This is an utterly contradictory post.

Do you have hard evidence of Levy's previous record of our transfers? Because I'd hazard a guess to you are referring previous transfer fees that have been quoted in the press, maybe Sky, even BBC. I can't remember any of our transfer dealings being public

Hence why I asked the question in the first place and you are now arguing that we will definitely pay 30 million for him. The irony is getting thicker by the minute.

Yep

All football transfers are complex - apparently the Robinho to Man City was one of the exceptions that took the football world by storm (in that it was just straight up cash, the whole lot, in one go)

And Levy in particular is notorious for throwing in a bunch of clauses in Spurs favour (like performance clauses and numerous add ons) that sometimes piss off other parties. But he's got a reputation for being really shrewd.

Nevertheless, these clauses are not going to turn £30m into £5m. It's basically £30m. Like everyone has reported

When did I say we definitely paid £30m? I think we paid around that figure, I don't see where everyone would have randomly plucked £30m from. There must be something in that

You won't believe that we paid the reported £30m for Sissoko because you believe historically reported transfer fees. And I'm being ironic?

So 4 pages back he was doing well now the club should be ashamed and he has no ability whatsoever. Is that about right?
Four pages back was a month ago and people optimistically said he was going to kick on, he didnt

Also he hasnt started a game since a month ago in the PL

4 pages ago people were saying he was proving them wrong. Now he's dogshit again after a further 30 minutes of league action.

I asked if people actually believe Spurs paid 30 million for Sissoko, you do I don't that's pretty much the bottom line here.

30 Million. Seems wildly ott considering Spurs dealings in previous seasons. I doubt Spurs pay more than 20 Million total.

But we paid £16.5m for Darren Bent 10 years ago when our revenue was much lower. The following year we also paid a similar fee for Bentley and for Modric.

Just over a year ago we paid more than £20m for Son, so I don't get why you think Levy won't pay these fees.

What he won't do is match wages elsewhere, which is the key reason we are not competing for players with the other top 6 clubs.

It has been appearances in 5 matches. Though personally I dont agree that he was good, I just think he was doing ok/well

It also may just 30 mins but it has been a month as well, lets be honest, he has a season to prove his worth to the manager, if you consider N'Jie had only a season. As soon as Lamela comes back, I think it gets much harder for him as well.

Sure, I don't disagree. I'm not saying he's been good, just the reaction tonight after 15 minutes and he's "dogshit" and "cancer".

I have doubts over most fees, same with Soldado etc etc. This is the Sissoko thread, being the last player we signed for the quoted fee.

In this instance, I have no belief that 30 Mill is the grand total that Spurs will pay for him.

Hence why I asked, like I said, honestly if people believed the fee quoted. Turns out there are plenty of you and more power to you. Still seems wildly optimistic to me. Media needs to sell things though so it makes for good debate I guess ...

funnily enough, he is bad at those aspects, just a bulldozer with a fair bit of pace. Hit and hope merchant. Doesnt work when teams find you out. He doesnt have the intelligence to alter his game. Same thing rinse repeat. If he could do all of those things, i wouldnt be here with the negativity.

There is a reason why yourself and some others here are not hired as talent scouts by football clubs. There is no objectivity in your assessment of players. I am not interested in debating with you what skills Sissoko possess or dont possess. I trust my eyes to do the work.

I don't think he is that bad today, just not good enough to make some difference. I think Poch should put Janssen on instead of Sissoko first (or both of them)

He does what he does, but he's not one to bring on when chasing a goal. His goal+assist tally throughout his career shows that, and he's not one that thrives against a team that sits deep.

Because he's rubbish. He's not going to "come good", the way he's playing now is his level.

It was an utterly bizarre signing. I suspect we will sell in the summer because financially, like usual, he will have to go if we want to improve on him.

I find it utterly bizarre that some still expect something different from him. We all saw his level at Newcastle and it is not as if he is a young player who could push on. It was a terrible signing at the time and has done nothing to alter that assertion. Serious questions need to be asked at our scouting system after last summers window.

He had a few games where he showed improvement, but now he's just gone back to shit again.

I maintain my view that he is a 6/10 player who doesn't have the attributes we required to improve the team or squad.

Hopefully he'll keep working hard. He had a few good weeks and with a good preseason might be able to improve next season but overall I don't see him being seen as a good signing.
