I think we need both, but it should've been another midfielder ahead of Lamela.

Agree with you on lamela, shouldve been chadli instead of him. But i still wouldve gone for stambouli ahead of mason for this game. Against palace mason n bentaleb together are fine but not against chelsea

Its either him or mason against better teams. Not both. I personally think nabil is a better and more cultured player than ryan.
Agreed, Bentaleb and Dembele were showing a good partnership last year before Tim fancied gylfi and nacer in the middle.

Saying that, i'd like to see Bentaleb and Stambouli.

Seems to have Vastly improved off the ball which was the main problem for me last season, now just needs to work on his decision making higher up the pitch, some of his ambitious passes and shots will contribute to us getting raped on the counter. He just needs to retain possesion when he is getting higher up the pitch so he doesnt get caught out positionally

Definitely improving.

Or a Lando Calrissian - being originally a decent guy, but (having been blinded by wealth and ambition) selling out to very evil (though in fairness, well structured and effective) bureaucracy lead by someone who can fire lightning out of his hands, only to ultimately see the error of his ways and become a hero, but not before having to hide in a slug gangsters love dungeon in the middle of a desert (God only knows how he managed to blend in there).

Metaphorically that might alright, but if it happens in practise then I think that would be quite weird

Lets hope he sticks to a more noble Mon Calamari type life - apart from the 'being blown to bits' part
Without wanting to 'out' myself as an oldskool Star Wars nerd...this is my favourite post of the week. The force is strong with you.

Didn't think Lamela was too bad last night but I do agree probably should've had Capoue or Demebele start instead just to hopefully add a bit of muscle in there. Don't think Lamela shouldn't be starting really big games just as yet

right now, our best midfield is Bentaleb plus one.

who would have thought that back in January? tbh, who would have thought that back in mid November??

his potential is just frightening. if he wants it, he's good enough at 20 to go on and play for any team in the world later in his career.

At the thought of 60 million pounds tinkling in his pocket?:)

Yep

If Nabil and Harry keep improving who knows how good they can become. Hopefully being totally home grown means they may stay at Tottenham a little longer before they fuck off but I'm not holding my breath!

He seem to have developed a lot phycially in the last 6 months , he has everything to be a complete midfielder for us. I like the fact he has a bit of a nasty streak in him as well it's annoyed me for years how we seem to be to fair and nice compared to everyone else

I almost feel like we are holding him back by having play as a DM/DLP, i really want him paired with someone more defensive just so he can bomb forward and dictate play higher up the pitch.

Wonder how him and winks would combine?

Bit like palacios and jeans maybe who were very effective combo as two box to box midfield types who complimented each other in their flexibility.

My favourite kind of central midfield, two players who can play but also have the bite and can stick their foot in and don't turn into pussies as soon as the other team start getting rough.

Not even 6 months, even early part of the season he didn't seem to have such a presence on the pitch. This injury break seems to have done him the power of good.

Not sure but i hear good things about Winks. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a

-----Stambouli----

---Mason --- Nabil ----
With stambouli anchoring allowing Mason and Nabil to press up higher up the pitch and be threats in the attacking third ( they would also drop back to defend) . I think we'd see a fair amount of goals from them, both have good shooting technique and power.
