What do you mean? Conte is out preaching on the importance of rotation!

In the match day thread his passing was compared to Gullit. But, overall, the player he most reminds me of is Edgar Davids. Because they look so different and have very different characters, it's not an association that seems obvious, but in terms of style, I see so many similarities. Skipp is such an aggressive player, but he just doesn't come across like that as a person, so it's not what you expect. But he puts himself around as much as Parker and Sandro, but he's better on the ball as those two. He didn't do it much today, but in the past we've seen he isn't affraid to drive forward with the ball. If he adds a few goals per season, then he really can reach Davids levels. I hoenstly think he can be a world class DM.
Reminds me a lot of Steve Perryman.

Been great, lately, has surprised me with his spatial awareness and range of passing.

But don't go OTT, eh? Suddenly he's our best midfielder, better than Bentancur who is unique among the five as an all-rounder, and I even see Modric menioned. Dear me.

Steady as she goes.

I can’t blame people for getting excited, because he’s a really exciting prospect. He has been excellent since coming into the team for Bentancur and is doing some really effective stuff for the team.

He’s not going to be like Modric or Carrick or Perryman. He’s going to be like Oliver Skipp.

Everyone needs to let the guy be what he is and do what he does. He could be great for us.

Certainly a great future for the club in Sarr and Skipp.
They really compliment each others styles and it's going to be tough to fit all 4 in to having enough game time.
Conte, or whoever the next manager is really needs to start rotating or else we risk stagnating the two youngsters.
5 not 4!

proper competitor and a really natural central midfielder, always where the actions is both ends of the pitch.

All the better that he's a Spurs lifer too.

What an absolutely cracking player, 22 years old, got the lot.
One of of our own ❤️
One bad game and he will be not good enough. If you look back I’m sure loads on here have that opinion.
Just goes to show you don’t have to spend 40 or 50 million to find a diamond.

There's just something about Skipp that assures me. His positioning is excellent, he wins balls where he has 30% advantage and he has a good range of passing looking forward a lot. I think he's the best replacement for Bentancur because Hojbjerg feels a bit looser with his positional play and needs someone like Skipp next to him. Sarr seems more of a box to box option. I thought and Hojbjerg and Skipp looked great before his injury too. We really needed Bentancur last year because although Hojbjerg is very good he doesn't sit and protect as well as Bentancur or Skipp or have the calmness in possession. If Bissouma could return and perform like he did at Brighton too we should really be rotating a lot more in midfield next season.

I love Bentancur and he would be in my starting 11 alongside Skipp but I've not seen a pass like the one for Richarlison from Skipp in his game. In fact any of our other CMs. Lofted over the defenders, just beautiful.
So glad he is getting a run of games as he seems to be one of those players who need a run to get going and stay sharp. I knew once/if he got that the quality was there and it's quite a nice middle finger to those who judge a player after 10 mins to not be good enough.

Absolutely love this guy. He bleeds spurs and he doesn't stop working. He truly is going to be elite if he can keep up this progress and growth. There's no way he can be dropped on his current trajectory. Only way is up for this lad and he's going to be bossing midfields in due time.

That pass for the disallowed goal was just perfect and we haven't got anyone who does that either. With more gametime and confidence he's going to pull off some great passes that will leave people in awe.

Yes possibly a little OTT, but this isn't a purple patch for him or him somehow playing above his abilities. He's been like this with the same skillset since he was 17.

Those of us who have followed his progress closely knew that given a run of games he'd start to show his other attributes other than just being mr right place right time defensively. I can't be arsed to go and find it but I posted a few weeks ago when there was a lot of "yeah hes ok but no more" and "hes alright but i dont see whats special" posts on this thread saying as such.

Couldn’t agree more with this.
This isn’t a flash in the pan bit of form at all.
Skipp has flourished and stood out at every level he’s played at, he’s here to stay, brilliant and he’s ours.

Good for you, and more importantly good for him and the Club.

Even though I’ll watch every min of each first team game, I can’t match your detailed assessment of his journey.

I think he’s stepped it up a notch in a few if not all games recently, naturally he has more rhythm and confidence than playing a bit part here and there.

Long may this continue.

100%. This lad is a super talent and has been since he was 15/16. I remember the first time I saw him play I didn’t even know he played for Spurs when I watched an England U16 match vs Brazil and he was so far ahead of everyone else in his decision making, how composed and mature he was. Everything this lad does is calculated and precise. His football IQ is truly special. I rate him so highly and we won’t see the absolute best of him until he’s playing as the anchor of a 3 man midfield

He's brilliant isn't he. Tactically aware, intelligent, just the right amount if aggression in his game and a very underrated passer.
Our midfield options ( including WB's ) is really shaping up nicely. Two great options at RWB one attacking one defensive 5 very good CM's , the exciting Udogie at LWB and we just need another to rotate with him ( Peresic not got the legs to be a LWB in my opinion )

It was shocking the number of knee jerk posts from people on here - clearly not gonna make the grade, Winks mark 2 etc, some really dumb stuff being posted.

Especially given he showed last season before his injury what a top player he could be, he also did well in preseason (although I know that isn’t always the best indicator).

Just needed to get his sharpness back, be given a run and be trusted by the manager.
