Just watched back the sending off after being at the game, even worse watching it back, why the FUCK did he not just use his hands & claim the ball, what on earth was going through his mind, brain dead
When watching it live it was like some cartoon sketch where you shake your head, did I just see that, I remember feeling a sense of relief that the ball was gazza’s as he just needed to grab it then out of nowhere the taekwondo kick, was astonishingly bad decision making, he literally created a total mess out of nothing.

That was genuinely one of the worst bits of keeping I can remember. He could've walked out and picked it up but instead chose to karate kick Alonso. The only conclusion I can make is that he was scared of getting hurt.

That’s the thing that’s pissed me off the most.

Any half competent keeper would have caught that, instead Gazzaniga decided to audition for a martial arts film.

If he’s scared of getting hurt, then he has no place being a first choice keeper.

Lloris is the best keeper we've had in the PL era in terms of sheer talent. He's eccentric but sometimes in a brilliant way like in his early seasons at the club where he bailed us out so much. But after him I'd rather have a keeper who is just steady. Someone like Friedel when he was with us. Friedel wasn't pulling off acrobatic wonder saves but you could rely on him to do the basics right all the time. He brought calmness to the position. We need that back rather than these guys who are amazing one week then shite the next.

That scene is going to give me nightmares tonight. It was literally in the dying seconds of the first half, we were going in 1-0 down and it was such a controllable situation on his part. Just catch the fucking ball. No idea what possessed him to absolutely lose his mind like that.

I've been happy with his displays, though against those calling for him to permanently replace Lloris. That was mainly down to some of his decision making and speed at getting down to the deck, but he's been solid enough. Today was something I genuinely did not expect from him, it was more brainless than anything Lloris has ever done, it made no sense.

Let’s all ignore the next mistake he also made pushing a simple shot straight in front of himself to a Chelsea player to make it 3 to be saved by offside he is an awful keeper

I'd not say awful, but I will say plain average. He's done well of late pushing those sort of shots away from his goal, but today got his footing all wrong.

I dont think I have ever seen anyone give away such a needless pen, looked like he forgot what to do with his hands and thought fuck it

The timing of it really really fucks me off. Go in at 1-0 down and we have a chance... Imagine doing that just before half-time for fuck sake.

Everybody just conveniently choosing to forget that he was monumentally saved for another howler by the offside flag?

It truly baffles me that people think this guy is better than Lloris. I’ve honestly not seen a goalkeeper worse at saving low shots than him. It takes him an absolute age to get down to the ground. If he does manage to save them, he usually spills them back into the box like he did today.
All you have to do to beat Gazzaniga is shoot low. It’s ridiculous

Goes to who how quickly we are to judge. When he first started playing, the odd game here and there, he was the dogs danglers and everyone was in love with how handsome he is and were offering him free use of the mums/significant others. Now he's shit :D

I think you'll find I've always said he's shit, but as I'm level-headed and kind I tried to not rant about it. You don't go from Southampton's u13s reserve 'keeper to being good enough as our back-up overnight imvho.
