I believe they already are getting a decent fee from the sell on clause with our deal for doing absolutely nothing.

I'm not sure what the work to profit benefit is but I feel is if they wanted to do that they would have already done so this month.
He might have played against city then though and the result could have been different.. pissing us about is almost worth as much as the cash.. who knows but I wouldn't put anything past anyone at this stage.

While it’s impossible to know whether the Cancelo move has scuppered the Porto transfer or not, we really shouldn’t be in this position on the day before the window closes.

Sporting would get a much smaller fee from City than us. Doesn't make sense, infact they would probably be looking at getting the deal with us done quicker if that were the case

As Trix said they probably have first refusal. Therefore if they decide they want Porro, Sporting have to stop talks with any other team and allow Porro to negotiate with City.

Unless the player would rather go to City, and/or City are willing to make sure Sporting net a higher fee

If Porro is disappointed and pushing for the move to us as is reported then I would be surprised if City are involved at all. He would be well aware surely.

Just seems like negotiating tactics from Sporting. If we agree to give them this extra £3m, who’s to say they won’t turn around and ask for more? It’ll go down to the wire imo with them squeezing everything they can out of the deal.

Probably paid more for the loan fee for Danjuma. Sums Levy up all over, happy to waste money on a back up player we may not keep for more than 6 months but walks away from a key upgrade to our starting lineup in a vital position for our managers set up.
The loan fee is reportedly £2.6m.

This is why you shouldn’t get too involved with transfers, completely out of our control and clearly some people get very emotional when things dont work out.

Better to just imagine we dont sign anyone and when we sign Kyle Walker Peters as cover for Royale you didnt waste a month getting excited over the Spanish wet dream.

A throwback

Porro is not going to City lol. He's not Pep's type of full back. Plus, they'd be looking at a LB. Chill.

Jesus, football fans really are panic merchants sometimes. Relax and let's see what the next 36 hours brings before passing any judgements.

Most of us have no clue about how transfers are negotiated so we have no idea what's going on here beyond us all "just wanting it done".
