One game....this place is mad lol
100% this.

Yes he was poor and it wasn't a good debut, but the whole team was shit so it's a game to forget and move on. The lads a baller, I have no doubt in my mind he will be a great signing.

I remember similar reactions to Kulus debut which look ridiculous now.

Patience.

When can't we buy someone like Mitoma. Cheap and world class

Are we likely to buy anybody cheap? When Sporting knew we wanted Porro, didn't his price rocket from 25m they allegedly would have expected to 45m or whatever we ended up paying. One look at our stadium and any player price pretty much doubles there and then.

Not the best debut but will take time for him to adapt. While he didn't always pick the right moments to push forward, I'm sure he'll find the balance the more he plays.

What I did like was there was a moment he showed the composure in the final third that we've lacked from most of our wing backs. After he beat his man, he took an extra moment and cut the ball back to Kulu rather than just blindly putting the ball into ball into the box/hitting the first man.

I think he will blow hot and cold in an inconsistent team without any actual proactive approach to the game.

he will be great going forward, but he is suspect defensively (not just based on yesterday)

We are guilty of not only writing players off after their debut, but also hyping them up beyond belief. Anyone remember Mido or Dalmat’s debuts. They were the greatest players ever! Apparently. There is no point making judgements in the first couple of months, as they are rarely correct.

Meh, it's one game. He was poor but our entire defence was a joke which can't have helped.

His picked out cross for Kulu was very good at least.

I think the Milan game will be a good game for him to get going in. Pace will be a bit slower so he'll get time on the ball.

I think he'll play tonight.

If I found out the two players alongside me playing as a wingback were tanganga and Dier on my debut I would fake an injury what chance does anyone have with the calamities we call centrebacks.

The posts from Aurier’s debut are hilarious. “World. Class. Fullback.”

I remember Etienne Capoue looked like the best CDM ever existed on his debut against Palace.

Yeah debuts mean fuck all in the grand scheme of things. Haaland was laughably bad on his debut for City, while Kulu was getting pelters after his first cameo for us.

Think every new player deserves a grace period and it's not helpful to overhype them or shit on them too much from the get-go. Modric was considered one of Madrid's worst signings of all time after 6 months ffs.

I'm certainly guilty of this myself, though. I think I called Gil our most exciting young signing since Bale when I saw his first appearance under Nuno.

I know it was just a cameo today - but he came oh, so close to putting Son in. Pass was just a little too far in front, and I think Son gave up on it a little too easily - but once Porro gets acclimated, those are the kind of passes I hope we see more often!

Couple of little glimpses of what is to come. Obviously not enough time to judge anything properly, but he's been on the pitch for a win and hopefully will start against Sheff Utd.

I don't think son was expecting it. It was a little too far Infront anyway, but Son never looking to break froward into that space

Small cameo but great to see him get minutes and great that he was brought on for Kulu rather than Moura, think he could cover Kulu quite effectively
